He Won't Let Himself Be A Victim!

The mentally drained Liliana walked out of the office half an hour after Nancy did so. She couldn't come up with anything yet as she had to wait for Edith's decision.

"...Mr. Liu? What are you doing here?"

Liliana had just entered the kitchen when her eyes fell on the familiar tall figure of the man.

Lucas was sitting on the bar stool chair, currently slicing carrots. A few other vegetables lay inside a plastic bowl.

On one side of the kitchen, Mrs. Fu was washing her hands. She had just done preparing the dishes ordered by the customers.

Harris already delivered the plates outside. He returned from school just an hour ago.

"I'm bored," answered Lucas with a laugh, "Better to be here. I can chat with people too."

"Oh..."

His answer was always unexpected.

Mrs. Fu smiled at Liliana, noticing the latter's weary look.

"Miss Xin, are you okay? Troubled by what happened earlier?" asked Mrs. Fu, her voice imbued with concern.
