The Image Of Her In His Mind

||Lucas||

After returning from his jog in the evening, Lucas had a short rest in the apartment before he headed out again. He checked on the cafe first, relieved to see how peaceful the place was compared to the afternoon a few hours earlier.

With Jeffrey and Alex there, Lucas wouldn't need to worry much. But, he still reminded them to be vigilant. What happened to Edith today made them put their guard up.

"Where are you going?" Jeffrey asked before Lucas left the kitchen. Grinning, the older man made a guess, "Have a hot date tonight?"

Lucas winced. He slapped his left chest, pretending to be sad, "Don't hurt my lonely heart ah. A happily married man like you won't understand my pain."

"Get lost," Laughing, Jeffrey pushed Lucas' shoulders.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll get out of your face now."

From the cafe, Lucas jogged to the nearby bus stop. The clock had just hit a quarter past seven. In five minutes, he hopped on the bus.
