"...huh? What did you say?"

Liliana paused from walking. She didn't notice when Lucas had stopped. Slowly spinning on her heels, she stood facing the tall man.

Their eyes collided with one another, only to be obscured by the shadows played by the lights above their heads.

Lucas blinked. He only realized how ambiguous those words sounded after they flowed out of his mouth.

"Err... I mean... I'll continue staying at CafeOrama."

Lucas stuttered. He tried to shrink his neck, one hand randomly scratching one side of his face.

For some reason, his cheeks felt so heated up. He at least knew it was not because of the beers he had earlier.

Never mind. He better spoke more before she thought weirdly of him.

"Boss Xin, I still have so much to learn. Don't be so quick to replace me with another pastry chef, alright?"

Liliana blinked. She was still trying to grasp what Lucas was saying earlier.
