Shouldering the backpack on his right, Lucas headed out of the small apartment. He made sure all electrical appliances got switched off before he locked the door.

Lucas glanced at his wristwatch while walking down the staircase. It was already a quarter to eleven. The summer sun was already high in the sky.

His brother and mother should already be on the train. Lucas' last contact with Kevin was when his brother boarded the bus. Then, he continued finishing his tasks at the cafe before packing his things.

Lucas' day off this week was actually on Thursday. But, he pushed it back to Sunday tomorrow because of his mother's matter. As for today, he simply clocked out early with his boss' consent.

Lucas brought out his motorbike from the annex used as a store. Turning his head around, he cast his eyes on the backdoor of the cafe.
