Neither Of Them Were At Fault

"It's done..."

Liliana withdrew her hands from Lucas' shirt once she finished putting up all the buttons. Her tear-stricken face had a hint of red spreading on her cheeks.

"Thank you," replied Lucas, trying to sound calm. He got off the hospital bed.

"I'll settle the bill and collect your medicine," Liliana spun on her heels, letting her back face Lucas, "Wait for me at the lobby."

Before Lucas could give a response, Liliana hurried out of the treatment room. She played with her hair, trying to hide her flushed face from being seen by him.

For some reason, the few minutes of her helping him earlier felt so long.

Lucas watched Liliana disappear behind the door. He lifted up his fine right hand, gently touching the second button from the top.

Remembering what he intended to do earlier, Lucas exhaled a sigh, silently telling him not to act out of the line.
