The Unfamiliar Place

Lying sideways on the big and comfy bed, Liliana threw her gaze to the window. The majority of what she saw was the clear blue sky, followed by a few towering trees.

"Haa... I'm nervous..."

An hour earlier, Liliana had breakfast with Talia and Old Master Ding.

The patriarch couldn't keep his eyes away from her even though he tried making it discreetly. He also asked her a few questions, dabbling on the subject of her family.

"How's your parents back in the country? Talia didn't tell me much about you."

"Where do you live? Do you live with your parents and grandparents?"

"Thank you for being my granddaughter's friend. She didn't know anyone much back in China."

It was obvious that Old Master Ding wanted to ask more but, Talia pretended to tell him off. Liliana felt sorry as she guessed what was transpiring in the old man's mind. None of the questions were answered.
