"En... Breakfast is usually served at seven. It'll be quite later if Talia's parents and siblings are here."
Liliana caught the slight tension in Old Master Ding's voice. Guessing that he might want to prolong their small talk, she did just the same.
"Grandpa Ding, do you want to hear more about me?" asked Liliana, offering him to get more glimpse of her life.
Old Master Ding was stunned. He didn't expect to receive such an offer. It was what had been on his mind earlier.
"It's my pleasure, Lili. Just..." Old Master Ding lowered his chin, unable to look directly at Liliana. After a moment of hesitation, he said, "If you want to, you can just call me Granduncle or Grandpa. There's no need to be semi-formal with me."
Understanding what the old man meant, Liliana had a fond look in her eyes.
