It seemed like an entire day had passed from the moment Liliana stepped out of Former Patriarch Ding's room. Yet, actually, it was only for less than an hour.
Liliana kept standing outside the room. She kept refusing when Talia persuaded her to go and wait inside the room next door. In the end, a male attendant came bringing them chairs.
"Was I too rash?" asked Liliana anxiously, once again second-guessing herself, "I shouldn't tell him who I really am, right?"
Talia gently stroked Liliana's back, trying to convey her support to the latter.
"There's no right and wrong. You did the best, Lili."
Talia had accompanied Liliana sitting by their great-grandfather's bedside for a few days now. She could tell that her second cousin was actually eager to meet and talk to him despite her not showing it.
