Liliana let her chopstick hang in the air. She paused for a moment. Her eyes remained on Lucas's surprised eyes.

Smiling, she reiterated, "My mother finally regained her consciousness. That's why I returned urgently."

Lucas was still caught in his shock, unable to believe the words coming out from the young lady sitting opposite him.
