Why Did They Leave?

Holding the full-face helmet in his right hand, Lucas stood upright as he watched the cafe. His bike had been kept inside the garage.

The interior was dark, showing that business hours had long ended. Only the lights installed on the outside brightened the area, shimmering on the neatly trimmed grassy yard.

At eleven-thirty, everyone had clocked off to head home, including Liliana. The silence in the business district was occasionally broken by the passing vehicles on the road. A few people dropped by the convenience store next door to get their needs.

"Hurm... I better go upstairs."

Shaking his head, Lucas hurriedly climbed the stairs leading to the small apartment. He let the lights in the living room on for Honeypuff. He wondered whether the tiny ginger had slept or not.

Creak...

"Honeypuff! I'm back!"
