Liliana was relieved that she was not drinking or eating. Nancy's words were enough to choke her.
Perplexed, Liliana's tone turned shaky, "When did you hear that?"
It had only been one day, did Nancy have already caught on to the matter?
Lucas didn't return from Dewsbury Culinary Institute until four in the late afternoon. Liliana met him briefly before she urged him to have some rest.
They talked for a bit while standing in the hallway leading to the baking kitchen. The content of their conversation was regarding Lucas' participation in the bake-off.
Liliana was ashamed of herself. There was nothing embarrassing in her chat with Lucas but, why was she too conscious of Nancy's statement?
Nancy's grin widened at the sight of Liliana's blushing cheeks. Raising one of her brows, she said, "You didn't notice me ah. I was picking some cakes inside the baking kitchen. I heard you two talking when I opened the door."
