Into The Depths Of The Southern Forest

"Hey watch out!"

"Argh! These damned rabbits!"

"How the hell are they so fast?"

Arthur looked at the players that were still struggling against the Grey Plains rabbits. There was no lack of players that were still at level 1 and were trying to gain some experience. Though there were also several level 2 and level 3 players too.

'The average level should be around level 3 now. As for the highest… maybe 5?' Arthur thought to himself.

As far as he could recall, it had taken players three days to reach level 10. That was the fastest one could get to level 10 in his last time.

Even reaching Level 5 in one day was impressive and those that had done so were already at the top. As for those that reached level 6, it was something that needed luck. Simply hunting mobs wouldn't get them enough experience.

Arthur himself was a unique case having exploited all ways that he could in order to reach a higher level. But it was still not enough.

'I'll need to be level ten for the class change anyways.' Arthur thought to himself. 'I have one out of the two requirements for the hidden class… I should be able to reach level 10 by the time I obtain the second requirement hopefully.' He reckoned.

He passed by the players struggling against the rabbits and continued on to the next area. The southern forest was chiefly divided into three areas that were inhabited by mobs of different levels.

The first area had mobs that ranged from level 1 to level 2. This was the area that had the Grey Plains rabbits.

The second area was filled with mobs that were of level 3 to level 4. This was where Arthur had arrived now.

Then there was the third area that was filled with mobs that were of level 5 to level 6 along with a few unique mobs that were stronger. This was the area that was Arthur's destination.

"Huh, there are more players than I expected." Arthur could see at least sixty players hunting the mobs in the area.

The mobs that the players were hunting were smaller wolves that were common here. There were about ten of them present while being surrounded by more than five times their number of players.

'This saves me the time. They'll occupy their attention.' Arthur thought to himself as he casually walked through the field.

The players glanced at him but were forced to look away due to the enemy they were facing. Though there were a few players that noticed his equipment.

"Who's that?"

"Dunno, but he got some nice armor… at least better than the shit we got."

"How'd he get that though? I looked at the armor they are selling in the village, and there's no way we can buy most of it."

The players couldn't help but wonder about Arthur's equipment. After all, to the average player, it was still too early to be able to afford armor. Some players had bought some armor, but it was just one or two pieces at max.

Arthur had more than that.

Ignoring the gazes of the players while thanking them for saving him time, Arthur went on to the next area. The distance between the three areas of the southern forest increased the deeper one went.

Thus it still took him ten minutes to get to the third area.

"Here we are…" Arthur kept an eye out for any mobs that might be lurking in the darkness.

The sun had fully set now, and it was dark. The only light that was currently present was coming from the Moons in the sky and the stars.

"The moons still look as pretty as ever…" Arthur muttered as he looked up.

There were nine moons visible in the sky, with each having different sizes. They looked rather beautiful and shone like gems in the night sky. But these were the nine moons that were visible easily.

There were in fact more moons than them in the sky.

Some of them were only visible during certain times of the year, while some only appeared under certain conditions. Even in his last life, the players had still not confirmed how many moons there really were.

'The last count was fourteen if I recall correctly.' Arthur remembered.

The land of Somnium was indeed a magical place, and there was no reason the skies beyond it wouldn't be magical either.

"As pretty as it is… I need better light." Arthur said before taking out a torch.

With the beast bones and fat he had obtained from his mobs, all he needed to do was to wrap more cloth around it and use them as torches.

Clack!

Arthur struck flint against his sword and ignited the bone torch.

Then under the illumination of the torch, he began his search.

The sound of rustling leaves and animal cries echoed across the forest, signaling that Arthur wasn't alone here. His eyes were sharp and looking around without missing anything. He didn't want to get ambushed after all.

Even if he was at Level 7 he could still die if several beasts decided to ambush him.

Snap!

His alertness wasn't at waste either as he soon encountered his first foe in the third area.

GRRR~!

A rumbling cry could be heard as a pair of dark yellow pupils shone in the dark. Arthur immediately used Inspect upon seeing it.

"Right about time." Arthur drew his Black Tear Short Sword and got ready.

WOOF!

The wolf barked loudly and lunged at Arthur, who swiftly dodged to the side while activating the sword's skill.
