Chapter 76: Showtime

Beth killed the engine and dropped her keys into her purse. "But, enough about that. Let's go find you a dress."

She climbed out of the truck, leaving Carissa to catch up. Too bad Carissa's thoughts were now muddled with thoughts of some ex-girlfriend she knew nothing about. Not that Bradley's past mattered all that much, but she did want to know more about him, about who he was and what had led him to California. But the biggest question nagging at her was if this Natalie girl was completely out of his life.

Finding a dress didn't take nearly as long as Carissa thought it would, and within an hour, she and Beth were back in the truck and headed toward the cabin. Beth confessed she'd needed to have her dress let out a little because she'd put on a few extra pounds. Stress eating, she'd said. Regardless, Beth was still gorgeous, and she looked stunning in her floor-length, silver sequined dress.
