Noah frowned. "You don't even know what I was going to say."
Mila finally turned to him, her expression unimpressed. "You were going to ask me to approach Allen and sweet-talk him into helping our family's company. And the answer is no. I'm not doing it."
Noah groaned again, slumping in his seat. "Why not? You're better at this stuff than I am."
"Exactly," Mila said, crossing her arms. "And that's why I know better than to get involved. Allen's not the kind of person you use for your own benefit."
James snorted, clearly enjoying Noah's predicament. "Tough break, man. Looks like you're on your own."
"Ugh," Noah muttered, sinking lower in his seat. "I hate all of you."
James grinned, leaning back with the satisfaction of someone who'd just scored a small victory. "It's character-building, Noah. You'll thank us later."
