Walking over to the girl's chair, Ryan was greeted with a smile from Eris. "Good morning, love," she said, then pulled him in for a kiss. She pointed to the documents on the table and to her lover, who was bending down to get a better look.

"Even without yesterday's challenge, I can't imagine that the monsters nearby are the answer we're looking for," said Ryan. 

Aether sighed, looking at his friend with a worried face he said "The portal won't ease up on the attack... Yesterday was the first day without a challenge, that can only mean something bad".

For the rest of the day, not a single portal or creature appeared in the village. Once again, the day ended quietly. But for warriors used to battle, this was much more uncomfortable than having to face the fear of death.

Throughout the night, a common feeling permeated the entire Raid leadership. A feeling that this was just a calm moment before a fierce storm.
