Envy had initially reacted well to the idea of not having to deal with these problems. A few minutes later, however, she still seemed a little thoughtful and surprised that the whole situation had been resolved with surprising ease. She was restless, staring at the monitors across the room as she tried to play cards with Ryan.

"Are you still worried about how the citizens will react?" Ryan asked, catching the girl off guard. After a few moments of silence, she nodded.

"For as long as I've known Phthonia, it's been this way. The city has always had a committee that specializes in solving everyday problems. It's been around for years," the girl said.

"That makes sense," Ryan said out loud. Phthonia was the capital of envy, a city where everyone had an amazing sense of arrogance and ego. The citizens of this city had a constant habit of trying to keep up appearances for others, to steal or imitate what someone else had, or to hold themselves to a higher standard.
