Xylon found it unexpectedly amusing how cruel these people were even to their own.

Despite not appearing authoritative, Josie's knowledge implicated her, paralleling her father's guilt.

Amidst laughter, he quipped, "Grilling them at midnight for a secret signal, huh? Any special seasoning or ingredients?"

He continued to chuckle as she remained at his feet, sobbing and repeating apologies.

Remaining bowed at his feet, her voice trembled amidst sobs as she uttered, "I don't know... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."

Xylon's lips curled into a smirk, and he responded, "Well, that's rather amusing, if you ask me."

Attempting to justify her actions, she began, "You see, they're not exactly fresh when we burn them. They've been gone for a very long time…"

Xylon's lips subtly curved, concealing a suppressed smile, before his gaze averted elsewhere.
