Her selfishness...

The following morning, Eva's eyelids fluttered open after a seemingly endless stretch of slumber.

She found herself nestled in the comfort of her bed, a sense of tranquility slowly settling over her.

Her gaze shifted upward, lingering on the ceiling as her vision adjusted to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains.

The world seemed slightly hazy, like the remnants of a dream clinging to the edges of her consciousness.

She blinked a few times, attempting to clear her vision and shake off the remnants of sleep that still held her in their gentle grip.

It was as if she was floating between the realm of dreams and reality, a gentle drowsiness tugging at her senses.

The events of the previous day felt distant, like echoes from another time.

In her half-awake state, she heard a faint whisper, a sound that seemed to dance at the periphery of her awareness.
