Xylon couldn't help but notice the fleeting expression that crossed Eva's eyes as she laid her gaze upon the lifeless bodies of the men who had caused her pain. 

A mixture of emotions played across her features, but what struck him the most was the unmistakable flicker of disgust he thought he saw.

 He analyzed that look over and over again in his mind, convincing himself that she must have found him repulsive for the violence he had just displayed.

In that moment, he became convinced that she viewed him through a different lens now—one tainted by the brutality of his actions.

 The connection he had felt with her, the tenderness they had shared, seemed to falter in the face of his own darkness.
