"You dare to speak of helping?" Xylon's voice was filled with a menacing growl. "Do you think you can just waltz in and take her from me?."
Sylvan swallowed hard, his voice quavering as he tried to explain. "I-I didn't mean to—"
"Didn't mean to?" Xylon interrupted, his anger cutting Sylvan off. "You didn't mean to?" The sarcasm in Xylon's voice was biting. "Do you understand what's at stake here? Do you understand what you've jeopardized by interfering?"
The intensity of Xylon's anger left Sylvan feeling cornered, his previous resolve crumbling under the force of his master's wrath.
He could barely speak, his fear of Xylon's power overwhelming any attempt at defense. Sylvan's gaze fell to the floor, and he clutched Eva tighter, his voice barely a whisper.
"Please... I just wanted to get her out of here…Away from X ..not you master ."
