An entity known only as The Dark Programmer sends monsters to the human world from outer space. For some reason, he hates humanity and wants to drive them to extinction.



Another entity, called The White Programmer, opposes his actions and gives humans a chance to survive by awakening them as players.



A boy named Azael awakens as a player. At first, he is excited—until he fights a monster, wins, and instead of leveling up, his level drops to zero. He tries again, and now it’s -1. His stats also decrease significantly.



He is obviously disappointed. But later, he notices something new: he gains a unique negative skill. By sacrificing his potential for stats, he unlocks new abilities with unknown potential.
