When Lilian turned twenty, the Prince proposed to her on her birthday. It was every girl's daydream and imagination.
It was indeed a thing of great joy but their happy moments will be short-lived.
The majority of the maidens terminated their contracts that day out of jealousy and many left for their homes.
The majority of the other creatures that used sorceries turned to their original form out of disappointment and anger.
They were so jealous that they verbally abused her in front of the royal family before barging out of the Palace.
Many of them threatened her, most of them being death threats.
Prince Alasdair would always tell her,
"Don't mind them, they are just jealous and frustrated that I didn't pick them but chose you after all their efforts to gain my attention. You know, you effortlessly gained my attention."
" They hate you because they don't have what you have. They have lost, they are nothing like you even after trying to be like you." The King added to comfort her.
She would bow and reply with a smile,
"Thank you, your highness."
Ever since the majority of the maidens left the Palace, it has become quiet, peaceful, and calm.
One can easily breathe in peace now and have a rest of mind.
The only maidens that remained are either the ones that have nowhere else to go or the ones that have come to know who Lilian is and have liked her and become close friends with her.
Everything was going well and they were already living there happily ever after when Lilian starts to notice some changes in her Fiance.
He would sneak out of his chamber at night and go to only God knows where.
He would also start staying out more than usual on his outings.
She didn't take it seriously, and neither did she talk or complained to anyone about it.
She just endured and kept it all to herself.
She was thinking that he is seizing the opportunities he had now, that once he marries her, he would become a family man and become more responsible.
Now, it's just six months left for their wedding ceremony and her coronation for her to officially become a Princess and not just any Princess but Prince Alasdair's Princess.
The royal family became the talk of the whole creatures and Lilian also became the topic on every maiden's lips.
On this fateful night, Prince Alasdair came home very late and heavily drunk. He went straight into the chamber of his Fiancee and entered her room without knocking.
He opened the door to his sleeping Fiancee's room and walked towards her.
"Lily, wake up. Your husband is here." He said to her as he bent down to kiss her cheek.
The cooling sensation she felt on her cheek drove her to sit up almost immediately with her eyes partially opened.
"My Prince?" She asked after she finished robbing the sleep off her eyes and saw the person standing beside her.
"Yes. It's me, your Fiance." He said, staggering, as he almost fell on top of her but he quickly stood on his feet as soon as possible.
"But… It's very.....la...late." She stuttered in fright.
"I know. Don't be scared." He assured her with a smile as he patted one of her shoulders.
She nodded, and cleared her throat, before asking the next question that was on her innocent mind.
"What are you doing here at this hour?" She asked as she became more frightened because she knew if anything should go wrong, she wouldn't be able to fight back or defend herself because he was her Fiance and he is way stronger than she is.
"What am I doing here?" He asked as he staggered backward and hit himself against the earthen wall behind him.
"Are you alright?" Concerned Lilian asked as she hesitated to get out of the wooden bed to be by her Fiance's side but she remembered what was important at the moment and decided to sit still with a frown.
"Ouch." Prince Alasdair muttered as he silently mourned in pain.
"I asked before but I got no response from you. So, I shall ask again. Are you alright? Are you hurt?" Lilian asked again with her eyes wide open as if it were going to pierce into her Fiance's heart and see what he had in mind.
"No, I am not my dear Lily but with you here in the same room, I will be fine." Prince Alasdair said with a smirk as he walked towards Lilian.
"What do you mean? I don't..... understand." She said to him as she drew her body inside the bed with her eyes wide open, glaring at her Fiance.
"Oh, it's true, you don't understand. I guess you are still a virgin." He said as he continued walking towards her, dragging his feet on the earthen floor.
"Yes, I am and I will be until our wedding night." She said as she was already on her feet on the other side of the bed.
"Come to think of it, I don't think there should be a need for that." Prince Alasdair said as he staggered backward again but this time he was able to hold himself in order not to hit himself against the earthen wall again.
"There shouldn't be a need for what?" She asked as her heart began to beat as if it was going to burst out of her chest.
She could already guess what was going to happen but she wasn't sure if it was her Fiance's true intention of him being in her room, stinking of liquor at this unholy hour.
"You would know when we are done." He replied to her amidst soft laughter as he had successfully climbed on the bed and was crawling towards her.
"Done with what?" She asked with a breaking voice and cleared her throat.
"Dammit. Come here, let me show you." He said as he stretched his arm towards her and forcefully pulled her to himself.
"No, don't do this, my prince." She said as tears began rushing down her ears as she was already laid by Prince Alasdair and she was sweating profusely, as she could hear her heartbeat become faster and it felt like it was about to burst out of her chest.
"Don't worry, you will know what I mean when we are done." He said to her but before she could ask for mercy, for another plea, he threw a punch right into her chest which left Lilian unconscious for only God knows how long.
