The silhouette of a man can barely be seen, standing outside the verandah in the dark night. He stood tall with a broad shoulder, leaning onto the rails of the verandah, with a cigarette in his hands.
He seems troubled, no! He wasn't able to sleep, and that has been the case for the past five years that had gone by, since after what happened that day.
How could he forget?
Even if he tried to, no matter how hard he tried to move pass the incident that had occured, which had shattered his life into thousand folds.
It would still bring him back to the conclusion that he would never be okay, nothing would ever be the same as it was, and it's all his fault.
Maybe if he had found her before his father has done so, she would still be here with him. Polina would still be here!
The constant regret fanning his features on a daily basis, did nothing to appease his father, Alex Singh, the man who was the sole proprietor behind everything that had gone down.
It wasn't enough.
He blames him every single day that passes by, and there was nothing he could do than to be patient, plan and wait for the rightful day to take his revenge.
To pay him back in his own coin for taking away the woman he loved, his step sister Polina Singh.
He could still recall how she was repulsed at his touch, and him confessing his feelings for her, but what she didn't know was that he was ever so genuine about everything.
He felt something for her, a dangerous affection that had blinded him to hurt her when she didn't cooperate, and feed her off the negative idea about his sincere feelings for her.
He didn't mean to hurt her, but he did and the five good years that had passed, didn't seem to ease the pain and restlessness in his heart.
His blood was burning, and all he wanted was revenge. His hands itched to spill the bloods of those responsible for her death.
His dad, Alex Singh.
Jason Ivanov and his entire family, he couldn't wait to end their fucking lineage. Irrespective of them losing their son too in the war that had broken out the past five years, that took Polina and Adrik's life.
He still lives with the revenge expanding every single day, but he knew outrightly that no matter how hard they tried to ensure the peace between both families, after the death of their children.
The truth that was hidden away from everyone, is that no one did forgive each other. The hate between his father, Alex, and Jason Ivanov still runs deep, that not even a peace wager would heal the both from the hate.
Unfortunately, this is where he comes in, as his father's son. It was his utmost responsibility to make sure that his father's revenge, and his comes to light.
But that's all useless, none of that would bring Polina back to him but he wouldn't sell his ego as a man by letting the Ivanov's off the hook.
He will kill them all, starting from the first, Jason Ivanov, his wife and his daughter until the last remaining bloodline is wiped off the face of the earth.
He would get the vengeance for his girl, she didn't love the violence but for her, he's willing to move mountains to ensure that she rests in peace.
Adrian crunched his cigarettes against the tray on the table beside him, and took the drink there. He needed to get drunk to get himself asleep.
Tomorrow was a big day, Polina's death anniversary and he wouldn't want to miss that for any reason.
But the sudden warm hands that were wrapped around his waist, made him remember that he had a guest over in his penthouse.
Camille.
"You aren't in bed," The young lady said, kissing his bare back before coming to stand in front of him, and took the bottle from his hands.
She was dressed in his black shirt that hung barely above her knees, and he didn't know how exactly to feel about her being here with him.
He needed the space, and she isn't planing on providing him with that while she took the cigarette from the ash tray.
"Another episode? Polina again?" Camille threw a whole barrage of questions at him, which had it being his relationship with her wasn't a genuine one, he would have walked her out of here for interfering in his privacy.
But the two go way back, after Polina's death comes Camille. He wouldn't exactly say that they were in any relationship. Camille was just someone who was there for him when he needed a distraction.
Gladly, she had given him the liability to enjoy her presence in his life, by not expecting anything out of their relationship, to be something real like what he felt for Polina.
He didn't love Camille, but he cared for her, but in a friendly kind of way, and she also think of him that way too. So, there's no need pushing her aside from his life, just like the other bitches out there, who always stay back after spending a night in his bed.
"You know you can talk to me about her?" Camille offered with a smile, while moving ahead to kiss his jaw.
She knew nothing about his ridiculous love interest in his sister, but had only realized that he had an absurd way of caring for Polina in a sibling-like way.
He moved his face away from her, giving her the notice that he didn't appreciate what she's doing. All he wanted was to be left alone.
"You need to go back to bed," He simply said, snatching the bottle of wine from her hands before dropping it on the table besides them.
"I would but only if you tag along, I can't sleep without you by myself Adrian, it sounds stupid but that's.." She blabbered on, but he wasn't interested in what she's saying.
"Camille" he called, shutting her off while she looked into his deep grey eyes to see how serious he was about her leaving.
"She's dead Adrian, the least you could do is to move on with your life" she spat.
"Thanks but i didn't tag you out to be the caring type,"He sassed back at her, leaving her in the open and walking back into his room but she followed after him.
"Ofcourse i do care about you Adrian, but you aren't helping matter's by antagonizing everyone about her death, Polina is .."
She trailed on, but was cut short when his hand went for her throat, and slammed her hard against the wall, a whimper escaping her lips at his harsh treatment towards her.
"Adri.." she choked on her words.
"Don't you dare call her name casually Camille, I don't want to hurt you but don't give me the reason to do that." He barked, squeezing tightly that this time she fought against him.
He saw red at her talkin about Polina as if she was someone common, it took a whole lot of resistance, not to snap her neck and watch the light die in her eyes.
It would give him maximum satisfaction at the thought of that, he readily listened to the voice in his head that urged him to do that until he saw Camille crying.
Fuck!
He releases her immediately," Camille I'm sor.." He went for her, while she squatted down in the floor coughing loudly.
"Don't come near me!" She screeched at him, her eyes getting wet at what she just experienced.
He was going to do it, Adrian was really going to kill her for just mentioning his sister's name.
They are not even blood related, she's his step sister and he's making a fuss about her death, as if she's some past lover or something.
"Camille, I didn't meant.."He called, but was distracted by the sudden ringing of his phone, he watched her going for her bag and clothes.
A sigh leaving his lips, before he took his phone to his ears ." Father"
"Until when do you plan on staying away from home Adrian, what's going on with you?" The man asked, as if it didn't bother him that Polina's death left a toll on him.
If anything, Adrian was sure that he wasn't affected by her death, Polina was his only daughter but he didn't shed a tear on her burial ceremony.
Neither did he looked solemn for what the Ivanov had done to his child, all he cared about was making sure that the family business was running as usual.
"I'm sorry father," He nearly gagged at calling him that, he did deserve that entitlement.
He watched Camille leave without looking back at him for the last time, but he wasn't bothered about that. She would come back running into his arms, when she desperately needs his dick.
"You know what tomorrow is right?"Axel asked, and that surprised him. He remembered Polina's anniversary.
"Ofcourse father, I will be back tomorrow morning to pay…"
"We are going to the temple this time around Son, I have heard a ridiculous rumor about the Ivanov's so i need you here asap"
His old man ordered.
"Ofcourse father, have a good night rest"He said, before the line went dead in the other side.
They were going to the temple?
Well that's new, he doesn't know what exactly he stood to gain by doing that but he's surely going back home tomorrow.
Surely!
