Fear of the Fedration

Finally, walking past the flames, the figure got smaller and, as he approached, Deek's brows arched. Why did this person look familiar? "Wow, you sure are sloppy Derek"

That voice calmed Derek's racing heart as he chuckled. The figure got closer, revealing a man with metal arms, his lips curled into a smile as he gazed at the man lying on the cold ground. "You need a bath," Jake said as he gazed at the man covered in blood.

Jake had tracked Derek from the first place he was, leading him to a scene of several corpses and blood-stained roads. This place wasn't a lawless safe hold. This could put Derek in danger should the police get involved. It was better to be suspected than for such vivid evidence to exist. It would take Christopher a lot of effort and promise to release Derek. Should that happen? The government would graciously grab such an opportunity.
