Deep into the soul

The huge man's comrade had a blue energy blade and shield, signifying his station as a melee soldier. Leaving two-inch deep footprints on the loose sand, he ran towards the screeching beast, which was still plagued by the pain, with its eye being the source.

Leaping into the air, he raised his sword aloft and pierced the bat's head, the blade easily piercing through its skull. Its twitching increased and the soldier who hadn't stabilized himself fell off. His grip on his blade loosened, and he fell to the ground.

The large wings hit him as they flung him into the distance. The impact was so huge that Rod, who was watching, couldn't react when his comrade disappeared.

Shortly after, the beast lay motionless, with the glowing blade deep inside its head.

"Kev!" Rod shouted with a booming voice and bolted towards the spot Kev had fallen. With just a casual swing, the bat had flung a human clad in Exo-armor more than fifteen meters away.
