Halcyon's first view

Before them was a vast sea of towering buildings that had black-tinted glass, barely revealing the interiors. The hard paved road had puddles of water and almost everyone wore thick coats. Derek found out why when the chilling wind blew past him.

The fine hairs on his arms stood, and his bodily reaction was to exhale. There was a heavy downpour a few hours before they arrived, and it wasn't a surprise when he felt the cold air.

His stronghold didn't have a Zenith sky and since the Dark Age, once there was rainfall, which happened a lot, the place would be like it had experienced a snowstorm.

The chill was unbearable even to evolved humans. Cars zoomed past them, sometimes causing the water from the puddle to spray on the pedestrians.

Daniel chuckled when he saw a lady hurl curses nonstop at the vehicle that zoomed past her, bringing along the chilling wind and also the water that splattered on her dress, and felt like it was brought out of a freezer.
