"We're here," Derek said and nudged Li Mei, who 'slept' on his back. His cheeks rubbed against her lips and her eyes opened.

The moment he saw her eyes open, Derek let go of her. Li Mei had to flip quickly to avoid making contact with the ground.

"I've never seen a man such as you" she pouted and stared at the distance, the refreshing air of the night carried along a dampening silence that made their bodies tense.

Not even the squeak could be heard, and it became the first reason to up their guard. The rats were the top scavengers in the ruins, mutated or not. Their sounds were noted by the hunters and it had become a signal of peace.

But the moment their sounds were gone, it meant a troubling presence resides in that vicinity. WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
