They both mounted their bikes, and Derek had to bear Li Mei's glare, for he said she wasn't helpful.

"Okay, I was kidding," he said, but she snorted and wore her helm. With no other choice, he grabbed his, and just when he was about to wear it, the sound of a vehicle heading toward them caught his attention.

Two vehicles, known as Sand runners, sped towards them. Their shapes were quite rough, and they had a desert color. Derek saw a man come out from the roof and aimed at them.

'No, it's not me,' he mused internally and followed the aim properly. The man aimed at Li Mei! "Shit! Mei, move!" he hollered and hurriedly wore his helmet. Her bike came online, and she sped off.

Derek followed right after. They leaned and turned as they shot beams at them. "Any idea who they might be?"
