Toward dawn (part 4)

Dust waves rose so high that Ming Yue, Angel, and Li Mei were blinded for a while. As the dust cleared, they saw Derek jumping down from the beast, which had been impaled by an enormous ice block in the shape of a dagger.

Both mediums hovered by his side as he raised his hands, causing an orb glowing with both black and white light to float out of the beast into his hands.

"We can't preserve it," Ming Yue said. She walked up to Derek while gazing at the glowing orb in his palms with shimmering eyes.

Slowly, ice formed around the orb, and it became an ice ball in a split second. "Preserved," Derek said. He raised his head and saw the purple-haired beauty, who as usual emitted a mature charm, stand before him, staring at the orb with her eyes gleaming.

"Hehe, someone's hungry," he chuckled, waving it at Ming Yue's tummy, causing her cheeks to flush.
