Contempt

"Oh, your mother personally informed me," the man who first spoke to her replied. 

"Tsk, I knew my mother might do something like this," Ariana clicked her tongue.

"I'm here to investigate the so-called new evolution path; as you know, we claim rights to situations like this, and from what I can see, you haven't seen any progress." 

Ariana's blunt words rubbed the young scions the wrong way but when they saw their elders quiet, they sealed their mouths.

"Well, the federation has been more busy preparing to sabotage the gathering of the nightmares. We're doing our best to prevent the war with the nightmares," Gabriel, the advanced man who walked beside Ariana, said, fully supporting the authorities.

"If that is so, then why did they let a horde feast on an entire safehold? From what I've heard, there was no survival yet you say you're sabotaging the nightmare's gathering. It's more like you're making them stronger.
