With both arms at his back, Derek stared at the landscape beyond the window. "Mark a hostile planet. Its name is Terra and the gravity is a bit higher than ours. Our current technology is barely enough to build a cross-world portal but they would surely come to Urth... again."

"Hmm, how did they create such monsters?" Luke scrutinized the holographic image of a void beast.

They had concluded that the Federation's approach would work on their terms but this was still a hypothesis so Derek would still have to brief his men on what to do if things went awry.

"I don't know. I've never seen anything like it." Derek said this while Ming Yue and Natasha stared at the hologram.

"We don't know how large Terra is or why they decided to launch such fearsome monsters without a good understanding of our world." Ming Yue crossed her legs and held her knees with her hands, leaning back against the backrest. She exuded a demeanor matching Natasha's.
