Inside, Derek sat in the captain's chair, his fingers entwined. His eyes were blank as he pondered deeply about the current situation.

He wasn't a lone wolf anymore; he had a family and citizens who looked up to him for protection, so hiding and waiting for an opportune moment wasn't allowed.

A door slid open, and a woman walked in, her eyes displaying concern as she stared at Derek's broad back.

Walking around, she stood before him and lifted his chin. "You need rest." Angel's pleasant voice rang.

"Perhaps…" Derek replied faintly.
