Moving On.......

April 1995....

It's been a few weeks since Daniel's death yet Amanda wasn't fully recovered. Time and time again she'd remember the time they first met in collage or the day they got married.

Before, just the thought of him cheating on her sent shivers down her spine. Now he's gone forever and she can't do anything about it.

One faithful day, Amanda was going through Daniel's old things when she spotted an old dusty photo. It was a picture of her, Daniel, little Adam and a small version of Savannah. They were standing in the park next to swing.

At the sight of the photo, Amanda remembered the reason why they took that special photo.

That was the day before little Savannah's first birthday. Amanda and Daniel wanted her first birthday to be really special so they took her out to the park.

She remembered him saying, " I love you, Savannah and Adam and like today, we'll celebrate all our birthdays in a special way until I die".

Those words kept on ringing in her head until she laid down holding the picture tight in her chest while tears rolled down her cheeks.

Sadly, Daniel couldn't fulfill his promise.....

Amanda sat up and wiped her tears. Since Daniel's gone, it's her responsibility to do everything around the house and take care of the kids.

She promised Daniel that no matter what, she will take of everything while he's gone. So she must fulfill that promise...

The next day, Amanda woke up extra early, she got up and made breakfast before going to wake up the kids.

She went to their room and shook the both of them in an attempt to wake them up. Adam got up a while later but didn't say anything and just went to the bathroom. He got dressed in a blue t-shirt and black shorts before coming downstairs.

Adam was always the stubborn and noisy one in the family but today he was quiet. He hasn't said a word since his father's funeral. Adam was more close to his dad than his mom so upon hearing the news of his father's death, he couldn't believe his ears.

During breakfast, the table remained silent. No one said a word.

After the meal, Amanda took the plates and kept them in the sink. Her mind was lost in thought. How on earth could she take care of everything all by herself.

Their running out of food stuff and the money they have left won't be able to take care of their needs.

Amanda clenched her fists as she struggled to fight back tears.

While the kids were playing outside, Amanda was in her room calculating her fees. It was almost the end of the month so their about to pay her her salary.

Amanda worked at a bakery that wasn't so far from home. She loved her job but it didn't really do much around the house.

Amanda knew the money she has won't be able to sustain them for long. Their bills are almost due and she didn't have enough money to pay. She thought of how she was going to pay but then at that moment, Daniel's face popped up and she remembered her promise and a ray of hope shun brightly on them.
