The next day...

February 2005...

Savannah woke up after hearing the ringing from her alarm clock. She scratched her eyes a bit before getting up from bed and making her way to the restroom.

She walked out from the restroom a while later, fully dressed in her white t-shirt with the inscription, ' Influence ' and blue shorts. She sat down on her dressing table and picked up the brush in front of her.

As usual, she brushed her hair a bit before using a rubber band to pack it. She then put a little lip gloss before smiling at her reflection, fully satisfied with the results.

She then took her hoodie and her phone before making her way down the stairs.

" Good morning mom". Savannah said before taking her sneakers and sitting on the couch.

" Good morning", Amanda said while washing her hands,"Breakfast is ready, hurry up and it eat before it gets cold". Amanda said as she turned of the tap.

" Okay mom". Savannah said as she got up from the couch and made her way to the dinning table.

" Where's your brother? He always makes us late". Amanda said as she put a plate of pancakes in front of Savannah.

" Good morning mom". Adam said as he made his way down the stairs.

" Oh look, there he is", Amanda whispered to herself, " Hurry up and take your breakfast, we'll soon be late". Amanda said as Adam made his way to the dinning table.

" You say that everyday". Adam said as he took a bite from the pancakes.

" And yet we're always late", Amanda said as she took her purse from the couch, " I'll be waiting in the car". Amanda said as she walked out of the house.

"Well, I'm done". Savannah said as she stood up from her seat.

" Can't you at least wait for me?" Adam said as he turned to look at her.

" Sorry but, no". Savannah said as she patted Adam on the back before taking her bag and leaving the house.

" Oh wow", Adam said before grabbing the last piece of pancake on his plate and leaving the house and locking the door behind him, "Okay I'm coming". Adam said before entering the car.

" Move", Adam said as he struggled to get in the car.

" To where? Can't you see where I'm seated ".

" Your bag, it's taking up space".

" Well I don't see-"

" Stop it you two, you're already late for school, I wonder what your teachers will say". Amanda said as Savannah reluctantly removed her bag from the seat and Amanda started the car.

...

Later that day...

" Okay so before we end this lesson, does anyone have any questions". Mr Williams asked as he cleaned the board with the eraser. No one answered so he continued with the lesson.

" Okay, next week Thursday, there will be a test. Since you all know your midterm exams are in the next 3 weeks, this test is too help you get prepared. The test will consist of the Cardiovascular system, the Reproductive system and the Endocrine system. The test will have only 20 questions, so get prepared before then". Mr Williams said before the bell rang and the class was dismissed.

...

" I don't know that man's problem, he seriously has to give us a test every week". Debbie said as the two of them walked out of the classroom.

" I wasn't able to study for last week's test and now he's giving us another test, worst of all our exams is not long from now", Savannah said as the two of them made their way to their lockers," I'll definitely need someone to help me study, would you help me?" Savannah said as she opened her locker.

" Okay, sure, I'll come over to your place after school", Debbie said as she put her bag in her locker and closed it," Shall we go?" Debbie said after closing her locker.

" Yeah", Savannah said as the two of them made their way to the canteen.

...

" Today feels like it will never end". Debbie said as she sat on the seat.

" You're right, it feels like it's been hour's but it's only been minutes ". Savannah said as she kept her lunch tray on the table before taking her seat.

The friends eat in silence for a while before Debbie speaks.

" Do you still like Nathan?"

Savannah stops eating and looks up to see Debbie. She took a sip from her water before placing the bottle back on the table. She avoids Debbie's gaze and doesn't say a word.

Debbie places her hand on Savannah's and looks into her eyes before saying,"Savannah, I know you still like him, you know this as well, I'm just asking you this because I want to know what you'll do when after leave the city" Savannah retrieved her hand from Debbie's but she still didn't look at Debbie.

"I've told you this once and I'll say it again, I'll move on and forget him once we arrive at South Carolina ". Savannah said before she stood up from her seat.

" Hey, where are you going?" Debbie asked as soon as Savannah stood up from her seat.

" I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back". Savannah said before leaving the table, just then, she bumped into someone which caused that person's orange juice to pour all over her.

" Oh, I'm so sorry". Savannah said before she looked up to see Nathan standing right in front of her.

" Oh, I'm the one who's meant to be apologizing, I'm sorry, I got juice all over you". Nathan said before placing his tray on the table and using a cloth to clean Savannah tshirt.

" No, don't worry, I was going to the bathroom anyways, but thanks". Savannah said before walking away .

" What's wrong with her?" Nathan asked after Savannah left.

" No one knows". Debbie said with a smile before Nathan left.

...

Later that afternoon after Amanda had picked Adam and Savannah up from school, Adam was in the kitchen making himself a sandwich when he heard knocking on the door.

" Savannah! Someone's at the door", he shouted before making his way to the living room.

" Fine, I'm coming", Savannah said before she rushed downstairs, ' It's probably Debbie'. Savannah thought before she opened the door.

" Finally, I thought you'd never show up". Debbie said before she hugged Savannah.

" Well I'm here now, come on, we have lots of studying to get done". Savannah said before she dragged Debbie up to her room.

" Wow Savannah, your room looks so cute". Debbie said before she lay on the bed.

" Not for long, next week, I'm getting a new room". Savannah said before she joined her on the bed.

" Hey come on don't talk like that, at least we still have a week to hang out together".

" Yeah you're right, now let's start what we came here to do, study". Savannah said before she got up from her bed and went to her wardrope.

" Do we have to do that now, I mean, we could at least talk about more interesting things like , your brother, I mean, he's kinda cute".

Savannah turned to look at Debbie bedore saying, " Seriously, you didn't choose any guy to set your eyes on except for my brother?"

" What? He's cute, nice, funny and smart, what else would a girl want in a guy?"

" self respect, self control, patience, I could mention more if you want". Savannah said as she walked closer to Debbie.

" You know what, let's continue with studying". Debbie said and the two of them laughed.
