One thing I knew vampires for, was their possessiveness. I knew that for Dav to do something like that, a certain male figure must be present in the dining room, and to confirm my suspicions, I traveled my gaze to the door and as expected, someone was there.
There, Ray rested his body on a wall with his hands shoved inside his both pocket. I didn't know if he had posed that way intentionally but I couldn't deny, he would be a successful world-class male model if he ventured into that path.
As usual, his expression remained unchanged as he fixed his gaze on Dav and me.
" Wife, open your mouth."
Dav's voice finally made me remove my gaze away from Ray, I could tell that he wasn't pleased that I had stared at Ray in such a manner and his tone said it all.
Without wasting any more time, I opened my mouth and just like the previous time, Dav had purposely spilled drops of soup on the side of my lips but I was quick enough to wipe it off my mouth.
The last thing I wanted was for Dav to again, display such action in the presence of Ray, who wouldn't remove his gaze away from me.
In the next second, I saw the smile on Dav's lips fold. Of course, I knew that it would have something to do with Ray. Just like I'd thought, I saw Ray next to me and without taking permission from anyone, Ray sat beside me.
Whatever his plan was, I knew that it was of no good. There was nothing like food for him to take in, so what mission did he have?
" If you want to say anything Ray, you can say it but if you don't, leave!" Dav said with gritted teeth.
It was no doubt that Dav had tried to hide his rage but he was very bad at it. On the other hand, Ray seemed to be unmoved by Dav's extravagant display as he formed a smile on his face.
Whatever friendship they shared, I really did not understand it.
Realizing that there wouldn't be any reaction from Ray, Dav sighed and chose to ignore him but before Dav could place another spoon of food in my mouth, Ray finally opened his mouth to speak.
" I must say prince, your wife does have a good scent."
If Ray planned to make Dav explode, then it was missions completed.
Dav immediately banged the table so hard that half of the soup got out of the bowl and spilled on my body. Of course, a scream was let out from my mouth and a shocked expression was shown on Dav's face but before Dav could react, Ray immediately took off his shirt and started to wipe the soup off my body and clothes.
At first, I was startled by his actions since he used his speed but when I saw that I had been cleaned, my body immediately relaxed but I just couldn't remove my gaze from his perfectly smooth masculine body and a tattoo of a small cross drawn in between his chest.
I didn't bother to look at Dav because I knew that he would be very angry and displeased that Ray had done what he was supposed to do.
But I couldn't help to think, Ray didn't look like someone that would want to help someone in such a manner, for some reason, I'd thought that he did that to annoy Dav and it seemed that his plan worked.
" I'll take it from here." Dav blurted out with a cold tone.
The smile on Dav's face returned as he gestured a sign of surrender with his hands raised in the air and his gaze fixed on me before going back to sit beside me.
With Ray retrieved, Dav continued from where Ray stopped as he removed his shirt and started wiping off the place that Ray had wiped but I didn't fail to notice that Dav had a similar tattoo to Ray but this time, Dav also had it on his left rib side.
A wide smile immediately formed on Dav's face as he noticed the way I had stared at his body.
" I'm sorry wife, it wouldn't have happened if we weren't interrupted by someone." He said as he stylishly stare at Ray who didn't care of the way Dav had stared at him.
" Prince, the vampires are asking questions, they want to know when you will bring the princess to permanently live in the castle."
Again, Ray had blurted out those words and from his tone, I knew that the vamps really wanted my presence in the castle but not because they loved me, but for some political reason.
" I will take my wife there whenever I wish, but I plan to take her very soon." Dav said.
" No way Dav, you can't move to the castle, do you plan on leaving me here?" Beatrice's voice startled everyone including Ray even if he tried to hide it.
But Dav chose to ignore her as he shoved another handful of food into my mouth.
Realizing that there would be no word from Dav, Beatrice immediately walked to us and touched his arm. It was then that Dav finally sparked, anyone who had seen the way his blood had boiled, wouldn't have believed that Beatrice was once his mistress.
With plans of not adventuring into the same mistake, Dav pushed the food further away from me before standing to face Beatrice.
" Beatrice, I have been nice enough to let you stay here, don't push it else, I will put aside the fact that I'm the prince and send you out." He blurted out while maintaining a straight face.
I turned my gaze over to the mistress, as expected, her gaze was not at the vampire that had just said those words to her, instead, she pushed all her anger towards me.
" Is it because of her, aren't you tired, Dav? She is just another female on the list, when she dies, another would be brought to you. When is all going to stop so we can finally be together?"
I stopped processing whatever she said when I heard the part of me dying. That was the second time she had said those and I must admit, I hated it.
Why does she have to say to my face that I was just another human on the list?
Then, I turned my gaze back to Dav's face, I could see the anger at the same time, terror on his face. I knew that he was angry about what his mistress had said but at the same time, he couldn't deny I would die before him and he would be forced to take e another human either as his wife or main concubine.
" I would appreciate it if you wouldn't talk ill of my wife." Dav said with gnashed teeth and a folded gist.
The mistress removed her gaze away from me to Dav and then, back to me.
" But–"
" There's no room for suggestions, that's my last warning to you. My wife and I will move to the castle, you are free to stay here if you want but let me make it clear, I don't want to see you close to the Royal Family's Chambers, else you might not like my next course of action."
With those words, Dav took my hands with the intent to leave the dining room but before he could take a step. A very familiar and unwelcoming voice echoed from the living room.
" Cursed prince, the Nightfangs are here."
