A Buzz

Some days go by, and during this time, Ezra meets with Rolf to complete the contract. Rolf seemed like a type of guy that didn't like wasting his time on things. Ezra asked him to hold off a bit, since he had some unfinished business, when he was done, he would contact Rolf.

Ezra eventually returned to the guild, and was then placed in a team afterwards. Before that though, the talk with the guild leader wasn't all that pleasant.

.

"I don't want you to do anything stupid, you hear me?"

"Yeah."

'Arrogant fool.'

"Like I said, the ones you killed were part of a rather big and established gang. If not that they were not important members, you'd be dead by now. They came here to cause some trouble, but I was able to make them forget the matter, again, because nobodies had died…" The guild leader kept on talking as he scolded Ezra, allegedly.

"It's no problem. It won't repeat itself."

"I hope so. Choose an attack team to join and go integrate yourself."

Apparently, this gang really cared for their underlings. Seeing the position of power the Guild leader was at, Ezra saw it a bit useless for him to lie, so he believe his words for the most part. It was better that way.

"What's up, I was asked to join this attack team." Ezra said.

"Huh? Ezra, huh? Hmp, bad luck." The one he spoke to said, as they stood up. They seemed to already know his name, but that was expected, after all, the one he had spoken to was Ron, the one he met through Lee.

"No, its good. Nice to meet after so long, Ezra. The leader made the right choice to bring you to us." Von said, as he walked towards Ezra and Ron.

Ezra quickly noticed that they didn't even try to hide their animosity. Well, maybe they did try, but it was still pretty clear.

"He sure did, huh? I'm glad to be in the same team as you two." Ezra said, with a little smile on his face.

'Idiots.'

"So, when are we going for a raid? Any today?" Ezra asked.

"What? It's not as easy as you make it seem, besides, we rarely raid C rank gates, and the last D rank gate was cleared las-"

As Von was still speaking, an announcement came on that he was being summoned, so he left.

'I pray it's a dungeon raid.'

. .

Moments later, Von came back with the news that a gate had appeared in a residential area nearby, and since it was a D rank gate, they were asked to deal with it.

'These fools didn't even think it weird that I was asked to join such a weak attack team. They really don't use their brains much, huh?' Ezra said to himself, as he waited outside while the rest of the team members got ready.

After some minutes, ten people including Ron and Von came out of the guild building. Ezra went up to join them before departure.

On the way, Ezra heard talks about himself, including people asking why he was with them.

'At least these ones have some brain.'

"We are not exactly complete with just ten people. The guild only let it slide because we are pretty powerful and have a C rank with us already, though he is a support type, his skills are enough to let us clear low level C rank gates."

Soon enough, they arrived at the site where the gate had opened, right in the middle of the road. The place had already been segregated and the association people were already there. Unfortunately, they were the one to discover the gate.

The attack team got down from their carrier vehicle and headed for the gate. After all that had to be handled was done, and everyone was ready, they all entered the gate.

Since it was a D rack dungeon, there was no need to leave the boss monster alone to clear the goodies inside, so without resting, they cleared the entire dungeon in one go.

"Good thing it was an easy one today. We made it clean." One of the hunters said, as they exited the dungeon.

"Yeah, even the healers didn't find much to do."

"Quite the talk, you want to see people injured?"

"Alright, let's not waste time and return. Everyone make sure to rest well." Von said. From the site, they could decide to return to their homes or do whatever it is they wanted.

Hunters in other parts of the world were not even required to show up at the guild everyday, unless necessary. But there were still some countries that mandated it, for lower ranked hunters of course. Above C rank and you become a man or woman of your own.

Ezra, followed his leaders instructions and left for home. Today he was going to be a bit busy.

It would be stupid of him to take the action he is planning to without proper background check, but the thing was that he had no idea what group or gang Ron and Von were affiliated with. Though, he was aware that they were no small time gang. Maybe at the moment they would even be an organization.

'Really, the bigger the better.'

Unless they happened to be some illegitimate children of the leader, which they sure do act like with all the arrogance, it was no problem what he did to them.

'Sorry Mr. Lance, but you'll have to bear with me a bit.' Ezra thought to himself.

After getting home and taking off his clothes, he hopped into the bath to take a shower before doing anything else. It felt like wasted energy sleeping these days with all the energy in him. But, there was nothing to be done, so there was no other choice. After bathing and eating dinner, he jumped on his phone and the internet took over.

Ezra ended up sleeping late, but he still managed to wake up early on his normal schedule, full of energy for the day. Just when he was about to enter the bathroom to brush his teeth, his phone vibrated, and a sound played along with the vibration.

This was the message sound.

'I wonder who would be texting me this early in the morning.' Ezra thought to himself.

He was about to turn towards the phone to check, but he remembered that this was a new line and no one even had the number, he ignored it.

'Probably some damn advertisement or something.'
