The three had also made an effort to inform those they came across as they rushed deeper into the dungeon, well, Ezra excluded.
Getting close to the location where the boss was, they could hear the sound of battle as the sounds echoed through the place. Ezra's expression got even more serious as he increased his speed, no longer caring if the two behind him could keep up.
'Damn, he's so fast! I can't keep up!' The two behind him could only follow from behind.
Ezra reached the boss area in less than two minutes to find Kyle being tossed around like a ragdoll. His teammate was already out of commission to the side, but he was still breathing, luckily. Ezra rushed in to bring the unconscious one out of the fighting area. Even after making those movements, the boss monster was still to notice him, so he took the advantage.
This time, the boss was a giant of a monster, standing just below 12 meters. Its body looked hideous like something made out of fat and soft layers of meat stacked on top each other, as its flesh formed layers in certain places like it's stomach, legs, and neck. Eyes and nostrils were absent from its face, and it wielded long retractable claws for weapons.
'It sure is fast for that ridiculous size. It's like watching a fat man run a hundred metres Olympic race.'
Ezra was already faced with the problem of not possessing a good weapon. While he planned his attack, the other two arrived. Looking at Luck's back, Ezra got an idea.
"Just in time. Hand me your weapon."
"What? Why mine?" Luck questioned with a somewhat confused look as he handed his weapon to Ezra.
"Because I don't have one."
'What? No weapon?' Luck's jaws almost dropped as several thoughts processed through his head. The fact that Ezra had solo clearing all the dungeons before with his bare fists hit him.
Using the opportunity presented, Ezra rushed into the fight while aiming at a single point in the monster's body. Severing the tendon at the back of its leg just above the left leg was a good strategy.
The monster immediately became much easier to handle since it could no longer carry its enourmous weight and size. Kyle used the opportunity to get away from the fighting once the monster fell the first time after been sneak attacked by Ezra. This turned out to be the best choice for everyone, especially Ezra.
After some minutes, Ezra was able to kill the monster. He cut off the other tendon, then used poison to weaken it even more. The monster seemed to love to open its mouth wide most of the time, so all Ezra needed to do was flush down some poison down its throat. With a final blow to the back of its neck, the monster succumbed and was killed.
"I can't believe it even though it's what has been happening this past few days." Luck muttered. Though he knew Ezra had been clearing the dungeons alone all this while, he was yet to see it happen in person.
"Here, your sword." Ezra had a look that could send shivers down the spine of a hungry vampire. It was cold and telling of the anger in his mind. "Can't believe they almost…"
Seeing the expression on Ezra's face, Luck could understand his feelings as he spoke to Mailyn. "He must be feeling upset that Kyle and his stupid lackey did something like this."
'I can't belief these two garbage bags almost took away my experience points. Good thing I got here in time and nobody interfered in the fight.' A little smile seemed to bloom on Ezra's face on that thought.
"But, he's smiling." Mailyn spotted.
"He must be happy that nothing happened to them?" Luck wasn't sure. "I didn't expect him to be such a man. I misjudged. Hmm."
This time Ezra brought the monster corpse out by himself as a way to assist.
"He should be taken to a hospital. You too, go with him." Ezra said. It was a kind of order, so Kyle felt reluctant taking it. In the end, he was injured and had no other choice. Furthermore, he now had a certain image of Ezra in his head which compelled him even more to forget position and just follow what he said.
Ezra turned to Luck, "It's just one more left. Let's head there immediately."
Luck was a bit surprised to hear Ezra say this, after all, Ezra had been at it all day, so it would be understandable if he left the last gate until tomorrow. The fact that he chose to still go was more baffling. "The last one's an A rank gate. You should reconsider your decision. We can come back tomorrow."
"There's no need to come back, let's just get it over with today." Ezra insisted before turning to leave.
"You should know that A rank gates have a higher chance of having a different setting unlike lower ranked gates. B rank gates are like that too, but the frequency is lower. Maybe…"
"Who's the one raiding the gate?" Ezra asked to which Luck gave the obvious answer. "Then shut up and let's go."
