The One That Got Away

She drew me in with her frown

The most unattractive part of her

And yet that's what drew me

Next came her body

Yes, her body, cause love without lust is not love at all

And boy did I lust over her

This all happened in an instant

I now know the saying is true, a minute can indeed change a life

But then that minute passed

And I knew I wanted to experience that feeling again

So then I gave chaseI chased, hoping for a miracleI chased, having not prepared for this at all

And true to my words I caught up

The beginning was rough

But then I realised something

It was the frown that kept me going

The brief look of disgust and

disinterest that flashed between her eyes

That's when I knew I'd been hooked

It gave me an understanding of my self that few know about their... selves

That they like the attitude

They like the ability she has to hurt your feelings

They like the disinterest she would

show to anyone who is not her man

Because if you are lucky enough to be her man

Then that look will be directed at others for your sake

And you, will be the only person who sees her genuine smile

The only person who can turn those colds eyes into those of affection and lust

Yes, lust

Because love without lust is not love at all

And that is the story of the one who got away

The one who drew me in with her ability to never let me in

Indeed, she got away

And that saddens me till this day
