Chapter 14 Lovely Roommates

John Smith opened the door to find two unfamiliar guys standing outside.

"Do you need something from me?" John asked, greeting them while observing them discreetly.

One of them looked well-off, dressed in a blue suit, shiny leather boots, and a large pompadour hairstyle.

Apart from his round and slightly chubby physique, he exuded an air of meticulousness and refinement.

The other guy had a crew cut, was tall and sturdy, and clearly had been well-trained physically.

However, his skin was dark and rough, and his clothes were somewhat faded. Overall, his temperament leaned towards being honest and simple.

"Hey, man! We live on the same floor as you. I'm Liam Evans from room 103!"

The well-dressed guy adjusted his greasy hair and flashed a smile that he believed to be very sunny.

The dark-skinned guy next to him looked a bit bashful and said, "Hello, my name is William Garcia. I come from a nomadic tribe and live in room 102."

"Well, you see, we're all freshmen who happen to live together. There's a saying that goes 'a neighbor is better than a distant relative.' I thought I'd get to know my roommates and make some friends. We can also look out for each other in college!"

Liam Evans introduced their purpose enthusiastically while shaking hands with John Smith.

John Smith suddenly realized that it wouldn't hurt to make some new friends in this new place.

"I'm John Smith, nice to meet you both."

"Haha, John old buddy, if you don't mind, I'll just call you that." Liam Evans slung his arm around John Smith's shoulder, winked at him, and said cheerfully.

"To be honest with you, my family runs a small jewelry and precious stones business. If you have any needs in this area or want to sell some decent jewelry, remember to look for me first. I'll definitely give you the best price! I won't fleece my own brothers!"

John Smith nodded with a half-smile, thinking that this guy wasn't too bad and was quite a lively character.

Perhaps the college life ahead would be more interesting.

"Okay, now that the three musketeers are here, we're just missing one more. Come on, let's go knock on room 104!" Liam Evans waved his hand and led the way towards the last door at the end of the corridor.

John Smith and William Garcia followed curiously behind.

  "Knock, knock, knock!"

"Hey, is anyone in there? We're your neighbors from next door. Let's get together and have a meal to get to know each other!" Liam Evans shouted warmly at the top of his lungs.

"Who the hell are you? What's your problem?"

The door opened and a cold-looking young man in loose training clothes poked his head out, giving the three of them a hostile glance.

In terms of appearance, this person was a typical representative of handsome and charming looks with his face like jade.

But the cold and displeased expression between his eyebrows was not concealed at all!

"Samuel Phillips?" Liam Evans hesitated, his expression somewhat frozen.

"Oh, you guys know each other? That's great..."

William Garcia chuckled foolishly, but before he could finish his sentence, the main resident of 104 interrupted him unceremoniously:

"Tsk, what bad luck. I was assigned to the B-level dormitory, and now I have to be neighbors with you?"

  Samuel Phillips' face darkened, sneering.

"Liam Evans, you don't think we're the same kind of people just because we used to share a window, do you? If you don't want to suffer, just stay away from me and stop bothering me, understand?"

After speaking, he looked down on John Smith and William Garcia with a condescending gaze and disdainful tone.

"And you two, instead of wasting your time hanging out with this waste of space and indulging in food, drink, and entertainment, why don't you meditate or learn more knowledge? Otherwise, with your initial soul power in the mid-stage of Spirit Master, you'll be kicked out of this academy sooner or later!"

With a bang, the door was slammed shut, leaving William Garcia and John Smith staring at each other, and Liam Evans with an increasingly grim expression.

"Is he teaching us a lesson?"

John Smith broke the silence first, with a hint of amusement.

This Samuel Phillips guy was quite interesting, hmm, quite arrogant.

  "Did I say something wrong?"

William Garcia looked puzzled and fiddled with his fingers, making a clacking sound.

  "It's none of your business."

Liam Evans shook his head, took a deep breath, suppressed his emotions, and then pretended to laugh, patting John Smith's shoulder.

"If we can't be the Four Heavenly Kings, let's be the Three Musketeers. John, if you don't mind, let's go to your room and sit for a while. I'll order takeout and treat you all to dinner."

  "Great!" John Smith readily agreed.

  ...

In the living room of Room 101, the three of them sat together.

"There's a gold coin store function in the watch. Although most of the items sold there are ordinary, the food looks pretty good. Let's give it a try..."

Liam Evans casually tapped on his holographic screen on his wrist as he selected a set of pots and pans without hesitation.

He then proceeded to order a variety of extraordinary ingredients, ranging from flying creatures in the sky to swimming creatures in the sea, all of which were guaranteed to be delicious.

After Liam completed his order, William Garcia couldn't help but stare in disbelief at the price tag of over two hundred gold coins for just one meal.

"Wow, is this food made of gold or what?" he exclaimed.

Even John Smith was impressed by Liam's extravagance.

After all, in Nordia Dynasty, one hundred gold coins had the purchasing power to sustain an average family of three for an entire month.

This one meal cost more than two months' worth of living expenses for most people!

"William, my friend, you just don't understand. We're all nobles now, how can we continue to eat ordinary food?"

" We need to break away from our past and start eating high-quality food. Only by eating well can we grow stronger muscles!"

Liam rambled on, sounding very serious.

  "Is that so?"

William felt something was off, but he didn't know how to refute it, leaving him feeling conflicted.

Twenty minutes later, a green-clad deliveryman knocked on their door.

He took out each dish and utensil from his special storage belt and presented them on the table, then handed over the bill.

Liam quickly signed and paid with gold coins, urging everyone to enjoy the food.

"William, you have to try the sour and spicy beef hotpot while it's still hot. It's made with the thick hind leg meat of a transcendent creature, tender, fragrant, and not greasy at all."

" Dip it in some devil pepper sauce, and the combination is out of this world!" Liam eagerly recommended.

"And this is a nourishing soup made with blue mud chicken. Have one bowl to warm you up, two bowls to refresh your mind, and three bowls to boost your energy. Don't be shy, brothers, drink up!" Liam continued to introduce each dish.

"Cheers, everyone! Let's toast to the first meeting of the Three Musketeers of the Mountains and Seas!" they raised their cups in celebration.

After a few rounds of food, the three of them became much more acquainted with each other.

As the lively atmosphere began to cool down, John Smith casually chewed on some peanuts and asked, "So, what's the story behind Samuel Phillips?"
