"What is this secret area 'Island'?" William Garcia was the first to ask.

  "You don't know?"

Liam Evans looked at him incredulously and said.

"The reason why Shanhai Academy is called Shanhai Academy is because it has two secret areas. The most famous one is the secret area 'Chongshen Mountain', and the other is the secret area 'Island'."

"But I want to know what a secret area is..." William Garcia looked a bit embarrassed.

"William, my dear friend, you lack a lot of basic knowledge. You should make up for it when you have time!!!"

Liam Evans sighed and explained kindly, "To put it simply, the land we are standing on is called the Transcendent Continent, or the Transcendent Plane. It is a very, very large and extremely stable world."

"This world is not independent, and there are billions of other worlds attached to it in the surrounding multidimensional space, including desolate dead realms and lively living realms, everything you can imagine."

"The secret area 'Chongshen Mountain' and the secret area 'Island' are two small worlds developed and tamed by Shanhai Academy."

"The former is a holy land for masters and pets to practice. It is the most important treasure of this academy. It can be said that most people come here to study from afar for the sake of this secret area."

"The latter is a special island-type subspace where Shanhai Academy has put a lot of effort into raising and nurturing a large number of transcendent life forms. It is opened every year for new students to contract their first pet."

"I understand now." William Garcia nodded with satisfaction and asked curiously, "So, does this mean that we can have our own pets tomorrow?"

"Well, that's the plan, but I doubt it'll be that easy!" Liam Evans looked at John Smith and said.

"John, you should have heard something about it, right? The competition in this academy is fierce."

" Even if you have great talent and a strong background, if you fail to meet the academy's requirements, you will be expelled without hesitation."

"Um, I heard from a senior when I came here, and it seems to be true," John Smith replied.

William Garcia raised his fist, his face full of determination: "I'm not afraid. I came here to study and become a powerful Master. I didn't think about anything else!"

  ...

The next morning, John Smith was awakened on time by his alarm clock.

After receiving the notification the previous night, the three of them quickly ended their dinner and returned to their respective rooms to adjust their state.

First, John Smith played with Galaxy for a while, trying to uncover her special features, but unfortunately, he gained nothing.

After that, John Smith spent the first half of the night in deep meditation and slept in the second half.

Except for Galaxy occasionally jumping on the bed, which slightly affected his sleep quality, everything else was perfect.

Even the scars left on his body by the ironclad zombies had now faded to a shallow mark.

With Galaxy in his arms and Liam Evans and William Garcia, John Smith joined together and took the guiding car to the central square.

  "John brother, over here!"

Emily Jones stood alone on a high point on the main road of the square, eagerly looking around, and the first thing she saw was John Smith, waving her hands to signal him.

"John old brother, you still have acquaintances?"

Liam Evans curiously asked. He looked at her for a moment but couldn't see her face clearly. However, from her contours, he guessed that she was a little beauty.

"Emily Jones, I grew up with her since childhood. She's like my little sister..."

As John Smith briefly introduced her, he wondered how to get over there.

At this moment, the central square was crowded with people, filled with noisy laughter and whispers, like a gathering, lively and extraordinary.

It took John Smith a while to squeeze over to Emily Jones with his two roommates.

After introducing themselves briefly, John Smith asked directly:

"Emily, did your soul power awakening go smoothly yesterday? How much initial soul power do you have?"

Emily Jones revealed her dimples and giggled, "Oh my gosh, I thought I was going to hit rock bottom, but I didn't expect my soul power to break through the mid-level Spirit Master level! "

"Even if it's just slightly above the threshold, it's still mid-level! Now I don't have to worry about Michael nagging me anymore, hehe!"

John Smith breathed a sigh of relief.

He didn't have high expectations for Emily Jones, so reaching the mid-level Spirit Master level was already beyond his expectations.

"As a Spirit Master now, you can't slack off in your training anymore. When it's time to work hard, you have to work hard!" John Smith lightly tapped her head and spoke earnestly.

"I know! I know!" Emily Jones replied cheerfully.

Time flew by and soon it was seven o'clock.

  "Whoosh!"

A loud and clear whistle sounded from the sky.

The noise on the square gradually died down, and more than two thousand students raised their heads to look up at the sky.

A bird of prey with a wingspan of nearly twenty meters, rushed towards them from a distance.

It was as fast as lightning and before anyone could see its exact appearance, it plunged vertically, gliding over the heads of the students.

The overwhelming and monstrous aura it emitted caused countless people to scream in terror.

John Smith happened to be directly underneath it, and in the brief moment he saw it, he checked its attribute panel:

  [Name]: Winged Dragon (Contracted)

[Race]: Beast Realm · Bird Beast Type · Winged Dragon Tribe · Sub-Dragon Species

  [Life Level]: Mid-level Perfect Form

  [Bloodline Quality]: Command-level 1 Star

??? (Soul power too low to fully detect)

  ...

"It's actually a Winged Dragon?" John Smith was stunned.

He didn't expect to see a dragon so soon, even if it was just a sub-dragon species at the bottom of the dragon tribe, it was still a ferocious creature!

The Winged Dragon was huge in size, but extremely agile, dodging countless obstacles and finally landing firmly on the thickest stone pillar in the center of the square.

With a change in its fierce and domineering posture, the pterosaur tucked its huge wings, which resembled those of a bat, and meekly lowered its body.

A woman with long hair, dressed in a golden gown and wearing a metallic mask, gracefully slid off the pterosaur's back.

With every move and gesture, she exuded a confident and poised demeanor that was hard to describe.

Looking down upon the sea of people below her, the woman, with her head held high, revealed her sexy red lips beneath the mask and suddenly raised a hint of interest in her smile.

"Let me introduce myself," she said.

"Harper Carter, one of the top ten experts in the world of Shanhai, currently ranked third. And of course, you can also call me the Steel Forger!"
