All Goes South

[The newly chosen's POV]

I am Suixin; I was a good-for-nothing in my last life. But I have been given another chance, thanks to the strongest system. I shall prevail.

Now let's assess the situation. I feel like I am safe here. I am in a forest with some serious injuries, but not to worry. Thanks to the gracious strongest system, I now have a smartphone with me where I can look up the latest info about the entire Murim as well as locate some medicinal herbs thanks to the mapping cheat that I have been given.

As the seer traversed the forest outskirts, he was met with many dead bodies. They were everywhere.

The seer, for a while, wondered why armies and ames would invade the Forest of Doom of all places, but he soon remembered that he did not care.

But there was indeed something he cared about. Some random ass soldier was sitting beneath a tree, scrolling through his mobile device, grinning. He was so immersed in his task that he did not even notice the seer approach him.

But he did indeed look up to see who was hovering in front of him, preventing him from his task. Sadly, that was the last thing that man saw.

"Tch, not Android," the seer said in disappointment. "Gonna have to wash the blood off as well, so not worth it... better than nothing, I guess."

The seer continued walking down the familiar marked trees. There were many bodies that haunted his way, all dressed in one of the 4 basic colors.

"Guess they went to war after all... I had so many plans for this, f*ck it, retirement is good," the seer thought to himself as he navigated the phone and changed the biometrics.

The seer recognized some of the nifty features the system had imbued into the phone, but it would take a while to switch it to meet his tastes.

And out of nowhere, from a tree falls yet another body right in front of him.

"Help me," pleaded yet another gorgeous lady.

"Sure," the seer replied before killing her with the hidden blade he has in his shoes.

"There it should be, I reckon," the seer said, standing at the mouth of the southside caves.

"But what's this smell? Did those ninjas get here as well?" the seer continued, treading down the cave.

Soon, a huge blood trail followed. A blood trail is too huge for a human. It was as if a ginormous beast was dragged or it had dragged itself inside.

The seer is a curious fellow; he definitely had to check it. And lo and behold, it was a magnificent white dragon with its exoskeleton shining gold, a creature of pristine divine power and beauty. Something even the Jade Emperor would be in awe and fear of. An ancient divine Heaven dragon.

But something was off... it was injured. Dragons are proud intellectual beings that are treated as monsters by humans due to fear of their power and lack of understanding. A normal person would take this opportunity to slay and sell the beast.

But the seer was not normal. He adored dragons, the one good thing in Murim that was being hunted down by the ignorant. The human-dragon relations were one of the major reasons the seer despised all those who hunted dragons although it made sense as to why they did so.

The dragon, upon laying its eyes onto the seer, took up a peculiar defensive stance as it lay unable to get back on its limbs.

"There, there," the seer put his hand up in the air, dropping whatever he held.

The seer did not require pondering this time; he was definitely going to try and save the dragon. Hell, he would do whatever it takes to make the dragon live, no matter the cost.

The seer is a madman. His five-year retirement life changed little. He is obsessed with dragons, and there's no way he is letting one die.

If someone told him to massacre the entire Xianwu province to keep it alive, the seer would not put it beneath him to do so.

Of all the dead and injured he has found, this one he wanted to save desperately.

"Won't hurt ya," the seer very carefully approached the dragon.

But the dragon would not buy it, not that it understood what he was saying.

It tried to stand up, only to fall back onto the ground, but it pushed itself further from the seer in the process.

*nrgggg*

The dragon started to growl. It would speak, but a giant bone spike had been shoved up into its jaw, effectively sealing off its mouth so it could not use its fire breath.

Whoever attempted to hunt this one was either an expert or had planned this for a long time.

But now that the dragon had flown into the Forest of Doom, it was much safer. No one would be foolish enough to follow it into the forest. Those guys would probably be mourning over their failed raid right about now.

The dragon was just too helpless to resist, and it simply gave up and surrendered itself to its fate, giving out low growls of pain.

"There..." said the seer as he ran his hand over the dragon's humongous head. Its head alone was just as large as the seer himself.

Upon closer inspection, it could be seen that it was a dragon bone hammer that was shoved in from its pointy side. But seeing as there was no way the seer could stop the bleeding and patch up the wound, he decided to leave it be.

One of its wings was also damaged with holes in it, but those would recover with no problem. What was concerning was the cut-open belly the dragon had.

It was pretty deep, but thanks to the dragon's tough skin, scales, and strong structure, the wound did not open too wide, meaning the organs came out with little injury.

The seer immediately pulled out tons of bandage rolls and pills and such from his special ring as much is definitely needed given the size of the beast. He tried his best to cover up the wound it had but once again his lack of medicinal skills could be seen.

With nothing more that could be done. The dragon dozed off into a deep slumber. And the seer returned to his house.
