She had fallen asleep, but how could someone still mention Starlight and Sarah Ford to her, as if they wanted her to feel even more despair?

She had no choice but to open her eyes, and when she saw who was in front of her, she was a little surprised.

"Mr. Chen, why are you here?" She looked around and saw that she was still in her own bed at home.

Brandon Chen smiled apologetically at her. "I only found out what those marketing accounts did this morning and was worried, so I came to check on you."

Jane sat up, feeling sore and weak all over. Her cold symptoms had not improved and had even worsened. Her throat was swollen, making it difficult to speak. "Mr. Chen, do you still believe me?"

Her voice was hoarse, but at least she could speak clearly.

Brandon Chen laughed and pointed to his head. "I trust my own judgment."

When he was a fan of hers, he had visited Jane's music room many times. She was either composing or singing in there, and when she knew he was coming, she would sing for him and ask for his feedback.

He had witnessed her step by step journey to success, how could he doubt her?

Jane felt a sense of happiness and smiled at him. "Thank you for still believing in me."

Upon seeing Jane's unusually pale complexion and swollen eyes, Brandon Chen couldn't imagine how she had made it through the night as a woman. Furthermore, when he arrived at Jane's house this morning, he found that her parents were unexpectedly absent. It occurred to him that Starlight's actions likely involved Jane's parents' approval, which made him feel even more sympathetic towards Jane.

"Jane, you've been terribly wronged. Let me help you clear your name," he said seriously, not joking in the slightest.

It wasn't arrogance on his part, but rather due to the strength of the Chen family, it would be easy to uncover the truth.

Jane was taken aback by his words and a glimpse of Starlight flashed through her eyes, then she reached out to Brandon Chen and said, "Can I borrow your phone for a moment?"

Brandon Chen was puzzled, but he handed his phone over to Jane, unlocking it with his fingerprint.

As a businessperson, his WeChat friends were all clearly marked with their names and job titles. Jane opened the app and searched for Kevin's latest post, which was a set of three photos showing her from behind: one of her being pushed onto the street by a security guard, another of her kneeling at John's feet, and the third of her standing alone at a bus stop looking destitute and helpless.

Each photo cleverly avoided showing her face, leaving only the impression of a distressed and pitiful woman.

John's face was not visible in any of the photos.

The caption read: "What goes around comes around. This is the fate of adulterers. You brought this on yourself and cannot be forgiven."

Kevin was John's best friend and confidant, and his attitude reflected John's, especially considering that he had used the same four words: "You brought this on yourself."

Despite the power of the Chen family, they were still far behind the John family. What's more, John had explicitly forbidden her from contacting Brandon Chen again.

After pleading with John on her knees yielded no results, she turned to Brandon Chen for help, but doing so would only bring trouble to the Chen family and herself.

"No, it's alright," Jane said, although she had been hoping for the truth to be revealed. She couldn't selfishly drag the Chen family down.

"Are you sure?" Brandon Chen raised his eyebrows.

He had noticed that Jane had been looking at Kevin's post and had a vague sense of her worries. "You don't have to be afraid of Kevin. We're in the right. Are we afraid of villains?"

Jane couldn't help but bitter smile. There was no such thing as being unafraid of shadows when capital was able to twist the truth.

"No, really, it's fine. I'm okay. Please don't worry," she said. As she spoke, a new post notification suddenly appeared on Brandon Chen's WeChat Moments. She glanced at the tag and felt her heart skip a beat. It was from John.

Wasn't he someone who never posted on social media?
