As for Jill, she's still so young.
She deliberately controlled herself not to think about her, not to see her, for fear that she couldn't bear it if she found out that she had died.
Since he couldn't give her love, he wouldn't bring her harm.
"Because telling them won't help." With a hundred thoughts in her heart, what came out of her mouth was just such a simple sentence.
Jack didn't ask any further.
Jane picked up "The Cat Who Lived a Million Times" and was ready to continue reading, but Jack suddenly took the book and looked at her intently, "Mom, talk less when your throat is sick, Jack will read it to you."
Jane was taken aback for a moment, and then she heard Jack read emotionally:
One day, the white cat lay quietly in the arms of the tabby cat and didn't move.
The tabby cat held the white cat and shed big tears. He cried for the first time.
He cried from night to morning, and then from morning to night. He cried and cried,
He cried a million times.
Morning, night...
One noon, his crying stopped.
The tabby cat lay quietly and motionless next to the white cat.
He never came back to life again.
After finishing reading, Jack lay on her chest, tears wetting his clothes, "Mom, I love you, always love you."
Jane's heart was filled with sourness that she couldn't contain. "Mom loves you too," she said.
That night, they fell asleep embracing each other. When Jane woke up the next day, Jack's arms were still wrapped around her arm. She looked at his innocent sleeping face and felt a sense of satisfaction.
Although reluctant, it was getting late and she gently pushed the little guy away and got up to wash up.
When she arrived downstairs, everyone else was sitting at the table. Xia Auntie brought a bowl of silver ear and lotus seed porridge that she had specially boiled for Jane and placed it in front of her. "Thank you, Auntie Xia," Jane said.
Alice Garcia looked at the porridge in front of Jane and raised an eyebrow in disapproval. "Auntie Xia, why is Jane's porridge different from ours?"
Auntie Xia turned around and confidently replied, "Jane is a patient and needs to eat more refined food."
Alice Garcia pouted and looked at Elizabeth sitting next to her. "Mom, I also want to drink silver ear and lotus seed porridge."
Elizabeth looked at Auntie Xia and asked her to pour a bowl for Alice Garcia as well.
Auntie Xia was not happy, but with a stern face, she poured a bowl of porridge for Alice Garcia. Alice Garcia took a sip and exaggeratedly narrowed her eyes. "Being a patient is too lucky. This taste is amazing."
Auntie Xia didn't like this comment, and was about to refute when Jane suddenly called out to her, "Auntie Xia, could you please pour me another bowl?"
With the interruption, Auntie Xia didn't say anything.
As they were leaving together after the meal, Alice Garcia held her bowl and approached Jane with concern. "Jane, now that you have cancer, can you still have children?"
Jane's heart ached, and her gaze turned cold. "Whether I can have children or not is my own business, you don't need to care."
Alice Garcia looked serious. "You're my sister, how can I not care? Does John know about your pregnancy?"
She actually wanted to ask about John's attitude, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
Jane looked at Alice Garcia, feeling annoyed. "I have something else to do. Goodbye."
She got into her BMW and drove straight to the City Hospital. She had already made an appointment with the doctor for surgery at 9 o'clock in the morning.
When she arrived at the hospital, she sat in the car, tapping her phone screen, her fingertips moving back and forth over John's number, as if she should say something to him or wanted to hear something from him.
After much deliberation, she gave up on this weak idea, took a deep breath, and walked alone towards the obstetrics and gynecology surgery room.
