Have no shame(2)

Alice Garcia at the next table looked on with gritted teeth, wondering how Jane managed to get so lucky, with even the child who wasn't related to her protecting her so fiercely.

As Jane ate her favorite dessert, grass jelly, which the waiter had brought over after noticing the situation, the dinner lasted over an hour. Gradually, people started returning to their hotels to rest. The director had some scenes to discuss with Oliver Ford, Kevin Flores, and Alice Garcia for the next day, so they left together.

Jane left with Jack as well, but halfway home, she started feeling strange. Her body was suddenly hot, and her vision became blurry. Realizing the danger, she pulled over to the side of the road and saw that Jack had already fallen asleep in his car seat.

After all, he was just a child who woke up early in the morning and it was already late at night. As the strange heat continued to increase in her body, she was forced to pant heavily against the steering wheel. Just when she was feeling extremely uncomfortable, someone knocked on the car window. When she looked over, she was shocked to see Carl Edwards!

With a concerned expression, Carl Edwards mouthed to ask if she needed help. She had only stopped for a few minutes, and Carl Edwards had already appeared here. Was it a coincidence or was it planned?

She immediately locked the car window with a snap, and tremblingly picked up the bag on the passenger seat. However, her phone was missing!

Already feeling extremely uncomfortable, her mind suddenly went blank. She lay back in her seat and gasped for air, watching Carl Edwards smoking leisurely on the side of the road through the front windshield. She inexplicably felt that his smoking posture was handsome and masculine.

Realizing what she was thinking, she pounded her head with her hands, feeling like she was going crazy. How could she find Carl Edwards, a scheming man who ate inside and out, handsome? Oh, right, it was because his smoking posture was similar to John's that she found it cool, charming, and captivating.

She was going crazy.

She couldn't help but reach out and tug at her collar. At that moment, she saw Carl Edwards turn around and flash her a suggestive and wicked smile, with the dampness and restlessness of the night, as if beckoning her to push open the car door and walk towards him.

If this goes on, she will lose control completely.

She pinched her thigh hard, the pain making her sober up a bit. She remembered something, undid her seat belt, climbed to the back seat, and began to remove the phone watch from Jack's wrist. Jack was awakened by the movement on his wrist, and he opened his eyes drowsily, seeing her and struggling to open his eyes. "Mom, have we arrived home?"

Jane bit her lip tightly. "Not yet."

The light inside the car was dim, but Jack noticed something was wrong with his mom. Her face was very red, and there was sweat on her forehead, but the air conditioning was on and it wasn't hot. "Mom, what's wrong with you?"

Jane trembled, opened her eyes wide and clicked on the phone watch. "I...I'm fine."

Jack became alert when he saw her like this. "Mom, do you need to make a phone call?"

Jane nodded, her palms were sweaty, and her hands were weak and powerless. She could barely hold the phone watch, which was not heavy at all. "Call Jill's dad and ask him to come pick us up."

Jack immediately called John's number, but no one answered even after several rings. Jane listened to the busy tone, feeling like she was about to die.

"Don't worry, Mom, I'll call again." Jack became anxious too, and kept dialing the number over and over again. Finally, someone picked up, but it was a voice full of disgust and impatience. "We're already divorced, why are you still bothering me? Can you have a little self-respect?"
