Report joy, not worry(1)

In a restaurant, a group of people sat at a table happily enjoying their meal.

Jack acted like a little butler, checking online every time a dish arrived to see if it was suitable for the patient. Whenever a patient enjoyed a dish, he would make sure to bring it to Jane.

Jane was helpless, "I feel like I haven't been coughing much lately, you guys don't need to be so nervous."

But no one listened to her, especially Jack.

After the meal, Jane took Sadie Xia back to her apartment, and then took Aunt Xia and Jack back to the Garcia's house. During the car ride, Jack kept dozing off, but the moment he got out of the car, he became alert as if he had been injected with chicken blood. He pulled Aunt Xia into the kitchen and said he wanted to make pear soup.

Aunt Xia was getting old and loved children very much. Jack had a deep love for his mother and almost always fulfilled her requests. Therefore, even though it was late at night, the two of them were still busy in the kitchen.

Jane tried to help, but was stopped by Jack who earnestly advised her, "Mom, you've been working hard all day. Go upstairs and rest. I'll bring the soup to you when it's ready."

Jane smiled and leaned against the kitchen door, watching Jack bring a stool over and skillfully open the fridge to take out some rock sugar. The sugar sparkled white under the light, looking very tempting.

Jack licked his lips, seeming to be drooling, but he resisted the urge to eat it.

"Mom, go upstairs and rest," Jack urged when he noticed she was still there.

She smiled and turned to go upstairs. She was indeed tired today, mainly because of the Edwards family's disturbance and the online netizens who were cursing without understanding, which made her feel uncomfortable.

After taking a shower, she stood on the balcony to enjoy the breeze. When her hair was half-dry, Jack came in with the pear soup.

He was small and weak, and he knew he couldn't help his mother with her illness. He felt very sad, but he poured all his thoughts into this ordinary pear soup.

Jane understood in her heart that she never had the heart to refuse even if eating too much sweets would make her gain weight.

This time was no exception.

After finishing her drink, she instructed Jack to quickly brush his teeth and go to bed. Jack obediently nodded in agreement while she went downstairs to put the dishes away in the kitchen.

As she turned to leave, she suddenly saw Alice Garcia appear behind her like an evil spirit, causing her to startle.

Alice Garcia casually glanced at the white porcelain bowl in the sink and slyly curved her lips, "Jane, I never thought you were so cunning."

Jane raised her eyebrows, "Me, cunning? Compared to my cousin, I'm just a small fry."

Regardless of what Alice Garcia was referring to, she felt no guilt.

Alice Garcia snorted, "Wasn't it you who purposely led me to meet Carl Edwards' family? I lost six million for nothing!"

Alice Garcia had been hurting all night over the loss of six million. That was enough for her to buy dozens of handbags. She was so angry that her liver hurt.

Jane's mind stirred. Alice Garcia was indeed a good star, but her pay was only average. She also liked to spend a lot of money on her image and appearance, and her consumption habits were simply unable to produce six million. However, Alice Garcia seemed to be confident and comfortable, indicating that the matter had been resolved.

She was curious, where did the money come from?

As if she had read her thoughts, Alice Garcia smugly said, "The money, of course, was given by my aunt."

Although she had guessed it, she still felt a stab in her heart.

Franklin Garcia was away on a business trip these days. Did Elizabeth discuss with him before using such a large sum of money to help her niece?

"I came down to let you know that John will be coming to our house for lunch tomorrow. Remember to come home for dinner," Alice Garcia tossed out the words and lightly walked upstairs. She seemed to be in a particularly good mood and was humming one of her famous songs.
