Day 21, Dream space
( Rudra's Pov)
" Huff.... huff.. I am tired of this shit. Their combat training will start from today, but what about me? I am still being chased by this god damn shark."
It's really hard to talk while swimming, but my mouth just can't shut up.
I have improved a bit, I died only 15 times yesterday. But it doesn't change anything. Others are going ahead of me, they will start their combat training today and here I am still being chased by that god damn shark.
" Arghh..."
No not again, not my right leg. I don't want to die again.
-----------------------------------------------------
The surrounding water became bloody as the Tiger shark chewed on Rudra's right leg while still chasing him. The Tiger shark is created from an artifact in the possession of Terra, but it still has it's instinct and behaviour. It first cuts the legs of its prey, so that it can't escape and then gulp it down while chewing
The Tiger shark continued its chase to catch the human. It bit on his left leg this time to completely immobilize its prey, and it worked.
Rudra became unable to swim. As a last ditch effort, he swung his fist to punch the Tiger shark, but it didn't work. He died again while experiencing the same pain he felt everyday. But Rudra didn't scream this time as he became accustomed to pain.
The Tiger shark chewed Rudra's body, but he still made the last effort because Terra limited his pain receptors. If she hadn't done that Rudra's mind might have collapsed from all this pain. Still, it wasn't much of a help, but Rudra continued.
He knew that there is something Terra wants from him and to get that something he needs to complete this training. That something might help him in becoming stronger and above all he needs to be strong to protect his family.
If an apocalypse is coming, then he needs to be much more stronger than others, otherwise only hell awaits him.
--------------------------------------------------
As soon as he died, his vision became dark for a minute then light returned to his eyes. He came back to the beach where it started. His whole body felt refreshed and energetic, this was the reason he was able to continue his training. In front of him in the sea the Tiger shark was glaring at him. Only when he enters the sea, then Tiger shark will chase after him. That's how Terra set it, so he decided to take a break.
Rudra sat on the beach in meditative pose. He focused on drawing mana from his Mana core.
' Focus on drawing mana from Mana core. Direct that man from your core to your hand. Focus on the palm of your hands, focus on the feeling of directing mana to your palm. Imagine the wind blades in a tornedo, sharp, fast and deadly.'
Rudra recited these words as he tried to follow the instructions. Since the day he formed his mana core, he always practised casting spells. But he never succeeded. Still, he continued doing the same set of actions again and again whenever he had time.
Mana gathered around the right palm of his hands, sweat dripped from his face from extreme concentration.
' Focus, just provide enough mana, nor low nor high. Just enough to cast the spell. Don't let your mind wander, focus on imagining the wind blades.'
Mana swirled around his hand and controlled the wind in the atmosphere. A semicircular wind blade released from his palms and struck the sand on the beach. It divided a small part of the beach.
" Success! Yes!"
After countless tries, he finally managed to cast a spell. He became overjoyed and ran towards the Tiger shark as it was the only one in the surroundings to hug. But as soon as he entered the waters, the Tiger shark opened its large maw ready to chew him out.
In the moment of joy he crossed the red line.
" Argh....."
16th Death.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rudra returned to the same place on the beach.
" I am an idiot, aren't I?" Rudra said with a fed up face.
'Let's try again, if I succeed then I will be able to at least counterattack.'
Rudra continued to cast the spell for the remaining time. The more you cast a spell repetitively the easier it gets to cast the same spell and the time it takes to cast the spell is also reduced.
He was able to cast the spell only 3 times because his mana reserves hit the rock bottom. Mana exhaustion must be avoided at all times. Otherwise, he will be in a state of sleep for a whole day. Meaning he won't be able to train the next day.
