Chapter 31 Dark Scaly Needle Nails

Before the game starts, which will be in seven days, Professor Lupine advises us to increase the level of magic spirit power.

It only gives us a week's time limit to raise the magic spirit level. The training hall was filled with participants, there were several blocks where the training took place. Not all team members practice together, we are free to practice in any place and there is one block as a place for meditation. By carrying a hologram card, all the information regarding my data and which blocks are suitable for practice.

[Hill Valley Team]

[Leader: Morgan Agathias]

[Magical Spirit Level: 10]

[Primary Elemental: Lightning (Five Primary Elementals Inactive)]

[Elemental Attribute: None]

[Magical Weapon: Bow and Arrow]

My magic spirit is only at level 10, which is very low and Professor Lupine forced us to be able to raise our power level to the top level within a week. Very impossible. But, this time I have to believe in my abilities.

I am smart and quickly understand all lessons easily. Looking at the hologram card in hand, several training blocks are recommendations for practicing.

[Magical Elemental Training Block]

[Magical Weapon Training Block]

[Magical & Martial Spirit Endurance Training Block]

[Survival Training Block]

[Healing Training Block]

[Meditation Training Block]

No one studied the Unknown Elemental. Only a handful of High-level Magus possessed Unknown Elementals, and even then they could only be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Maybe I'll make Professor Lupine angry because I didn't take his advice this time. I only took the Meditation Training Block, Healing Training Block, and Survival Training Block. That doesn't mean I'm embarrassed, because my strength is only level 10. But I'm good at archery and martial arts. I should have taken the Magical Weapon Training Block.

Too busy looking at the information on the hologram screen, I realized that the Training Hall was very large and there weren't necessarily only participants and trainers who would train us. At the top, glass separated the room from the Training Hall.

A group of people wearing robes, some of them were sitting, talking to each other and some were watching us.

We were watched from up there, more like a criminal under surveillance. That person had, a tall body, sleek jet-black hair, and round glasses. The Creator of The Magus Games has been selected and that person is appointed as the Creator of The Magus Games.

The first time Andalus has had a Magus Game Creator. I think the Creator of The Magus Games was the Magus of Horaces because for more than fifty years it was Horaces who hosted The Magus Games.

Following in the footsteps of the previous 'The Magus Games', a Magus with his creative hands turns the battlefield into an arena of slaughter. Replacing the Magus soldiers with young Magus to sacrifice in this ridiculous game.

My hatred for them is increasing, there is no hiding it.

"Survival Training Block, not bad either."

There is oil that waters the fire. Usually, I obey and follow Professor Lupin's words, but this time I ignored his advice a little. I worried that because my magic power was still level 10, I could be completely slaughtered by those at the top level.

There are still seven days left, I'm starting slowly and by the end, I'll surprise them. The hologram card I brought provided access to the Survival Training Block.

Bringing the hologram card closer to the screen, the door slid to the side. There were only fifteen participants taking part in the Survival Training, our instructor being Professor Gum.

She was a woman with a strange bowl hairstyle. His light brown robes were shabby and had patches everywhere, a complete contrast to the other instructors who looked luxurious, and the robes they wore were sparkling clean.

"Morgan, we're on the same block." Lyra approached me. The girl always had her long hair braided, and even though she was wearing a black jacket training outfit over her t-shirt, she was still beautiful in my eyes.

The first lesson was to make animal traps, from ordinary animals, Mythical Creatures, and Demonic Mythical Creatures, in case we might be faced with such terrifying creatures.

"You don't need to drain magic spirit power, just with the traps you set. You can kill one low-level Mythical Creature, but you can't kill a Demon Mythical Creature."

Lyra is good at setting traps, but I can't. Learning how to make animal traps, at least saves spirit power. Professor Gum is very skilled at making animal traps, and the materials used are fairly simple. We got a set of materials to make an animal trap.

Residents of the Hill Valley district are experts in setting traps for animals, especially those who frequently hunt and violate permits. They could get these materials from Falla, a blacksmith who was famous for making various types of weapons and other metal materials.

Before practicing. We observe Professor Gum's simple way of making animal traps.

"If you encounter a Mythical Creature whose magic level is low. It's quite easy to set a trap, triggering it with a small amount of magic power."

Professor Gum pressed one of the hologram screens, and immediately the room changed by itself. She created an artificial forest.

I followed Professor Gum's way of making animal traps. Pushing the two black irons into the ground, the thin threads glistened, there was magic power contained in these thin threads. The thin thread stretched along the trees, at the top of the tree trunk there was an iron pipe hidden, inside the iron pipe was filled with a knife. No, not a knife, it looks like a needle or nail made from rock material.

"It's so easy."

Professor Gum held a thin thread in his hand, channeling a little magic power, a series of electric currents traveled along the thin thread. From below it spread to the tree trunks, a 'click, click' sound, a thin needle shot out, piercing the eyeball of a white, hornless deer. The deer was lying on the ground.

The artificial forest she created disappeared, leaving only the room we were in.

"Your basic understanding is to survive. You will feel the exhaustion of your magic spirit power, tired, thirsty, hungry. Apart from that, you need to meditate to calm your spirit and restore your magic power that was wasted during the fight."

I often hunt in the forest, my father always takes me hunting. But, this time, surviving for a long time, not to mention, the participants who would kill each other, Mythical Creatures and Demonic Mythical Creatures. The game would be very boring if there were no fun challenges at all.

We immediately started practicing, making animal traps. Even though it's not so easy, Lyra is very good at making traps. I have skills in remembering things, with just one look, I can make animal traps easily and quickly.

"Let's see who is the best at trapping animals."

Lyra and I were tested, showing the animal traps we made. The animal trap I made and the animal trap Lyra made are slightly different. Of all the thin needle spikes as weapons, I chose the dark scaly needle nails.

Channeling a bit of magic power, triggering a flow of electricity through each thread. For example a large stuffed animal, dark scaly needle nail bullets perforate the eyes of the stuffed animal. Lyra also manages to stab a stuffed animal in the eye. A little girl managed to put a hole in the head of a stuffed animal with just a small, thin needle.

Of the fifteen participants who took part in Survival Training. I, Lyra, and the little girl from Team Grasslands managed to set up an animal trap and shoot accurately.

Lyra uses needle spikes that hunters usually use to trap game animals, Silver Iron Needle Nails. I used Dark Scaled Needle Nails.

"Why did you choose the Dark Scaled Needle Nail? Even though that type of needle nail is not very suitable as a weapon or animal trap," asked Professor Gum.

The woman was very curious and seemed enthusiastic if there were talented participants. Lyra is very talented at making animal traps. Meanwhile, I can learn in the blink of an eye, any material, any quality weapon, that produces a deadly attack. Of the many needle nails, I chose the Dark Scaled Needle Nails.

"It's easy. Silver Iron Needle Nails are often used by hunters to trap their prey. But the results are not that great, the nails will not be able to kill Mythical Creatures and will not be able to injure Demon Mythical Creatures. Silver Iron Needle Nails are more suitable for trapping ordinary animals, not Mythical Creatures and Demonic Mythical Creatures. So, Dark Scaled Needle Nails are very suitable for killing mid-level Mythical Creatures and Demonic Mythical Creatures. Apart from the sharp tips of the needle nails, the scales covering the needle nails directly damage the skin of Mythical Creatures."

Maybe I should get a little used to Professor Gum being very enthusiastic, even to the point where his eyes sparkle brightly. Praising me until she was foaming at the mouth, saying I was a genius and other praises.

Although I didn't follow in my father's footsteps as a coal worker. I followed my father as a skilled archer. But, I'm still not as good as Father. The bow and arrows I have are handmade by Falla, made from good quality materials, and his expertise in forging iron.

In the following training, Professor Gum asked us to get to know the types of poisonous and non-poisonous plants and fruits. With our ability to recognize poisonous plants, it will be easier to start training at the Healing Training Block.

Once again, the curly-haired girl succeeded in analyzing plants and fruits, sorting out which ones were poisonous and which were not poisonous. The little girl with curly hair and I both managed to analyze the types of plants and fruit in a short time.

I enjoy reading books, even plant and fruit books. Just practice, I can easily analyze quickly. Not with that curly-haired little girl.

The little girl with curly hair could even explain in detail that the berries the little girl got were bright red. At first glance, the berries are not poisonous and safe to eat. But, if you look more carefully. The red berries have gold spots. Red Hue Berries are a type of poisonous and very deadly berry.

If an ordinary human accidentally eats a red berry, within minutes they will experience shortness of breath and paralysis of the nerves, leading to death. Even for a Magus, it is the biggest disaster, losing magic spirit power and experiencing paralysis of the limbs.
