Chapter Thirty Eight Every punch has a purpose.

Selena was jogging tirelessly down the road in her zip up black hoodie tracksuit. It was her normal saturday routine workout, she would often jog from her estate to downtown and into Hell's street where the Judo house was built.

She had finally made it to Hell's street. Her throat was sore and she was really thirsty and a bit hungry. Fortunately the Yummy chips restaurant was open so she decided to grab a light meal before she continued with her training. She tiredly walked into the restaurant and sat down on the lunch counter to place her order. An elderly waiter gently approached her and asked corporately

"Your order?."

"I'll have a burger and a warm can water please."

The elderly man nodded and scrambled down her order in a notebook. He went ahead to also ask the few order costumers whom were sitting by the counter. After a few minutes their orders were served by two more young workers, a waiter and a waitress. Her heart flustered when she saw the young waiter, she could recognize that face even if she was blind. Hugh casually walked towards her and served her order with a bill slip.

"One burger and a warm water?." He asked coolly.

"Y..yeah" She stammered slightly as she subconsciously held out her credit card.

"Payments are to be made over there." He patiently directed her to the cashier.

"Ohh..yeah thanks." She said nervously as she went to the cashier and paid up.

She hurriedly walked out of the restaurant as soon as she had paid up. On coming out she finally breathed out freely, she had subconsciously held her breath while in the restaurant. It was then she realized she had forgotten to take her paid items, she whirled around quickly to rush back in but jolted on seeing him standing in front of her with her items wrapped in a fancy paper wrap.

"Hugh you startled me." She said while trying to catch her breath.

"You forgot your orders." He said calmly while handing her, her forgotten goods.

"Thanks I was just about to get that" She mumbled shamefully.

He simply nodded and coolly walked back inside the restaurant. She wanted to utter something else, but the words won't just come out. She hated that she always felt so helpless whenever she was around him, she couldn't seem to get rid of the feeling. She turned and continued to jog away.

He was serving another costumer when he saw her through the window as she jogged away. Her hips were swaying gracefully and the crop top of her tracksuit exposed her slender figure.

"Why treat her so harsh when you know you like her?" Jeb poked.

"I don't have time for chaste acts Jeb." He said calmly as he returned back to whatever he was doing.

Jeb sighed deeply as he started at the young boy. They were both bond together, but still he couldn't seem to fathom what was now going on in the head of the young boy. He was sure of one thing. He was terribly damaged psychologically and needed serious help and attention. That was his job and he was really sucking at it.

At nights were the most brutal times in the downtown district. Somewhere underneath the Old Judo house was a huge caged arena, it was an illegal underground fight club. The bloodthirsty spectators were screaming on top of their lungs and chanting for their favorite fighter. The lean ripped muscled fighter had once again trumped the cards by defeating one if the top raining champs.

The champ sprawled on the floor like a beaten dog, his face had enormous swellings. He had been beaten to a pulp. The referee quickly raised Hugh's bloodied stained hand and declared him the winner once more. He's face was void of emotions, his white long sleeve shirt was painted with sweat and blood of his victim. While the savage crowd continued chanting barbarically to his nickname "The white devil!."

Selena was dumbfounded when she saw him standing in the steel cage like a savage beast. It was not her first time coming here though, but it was the first time she felt frightened by him.

"It'll soon be your turn my little Siren, now go get changed up into somethin' more flexible. Would you" Ada suddenly whispered into her ear.

She nodded obediently and went to prepare herself for her first fight. She'd been training for long and was confident that she had what it took to go up against anyone. She entered into the dressing room and quickly removed the top of her tracksuit, exposing the black strapless bra she'd been wearing. She sat down on the rough bench of the dressing room and started to wrap a white hand wrap around her wrist.

Meanwhile in the arena. The umpire stepped out to call on the next fighters "And now to call on the next combatants. I give you all The infamous Miss fatality!!."

The crowd cheered on hearing the fighter's name as stepped into the arena. She was a fierce fighter and due to her brutal nature she held the most kill records in all of the female fighters.

"And the next combatant, is a new blood with lots of experience. I give you um." The orator stopped as soon as he saw the name ‹Siren.› it felt too simple and soft so he decided to add something to it by saying "The Midnight Siren!."

She walked out confusedly as she hurriedly approached the umpire to rectify the situation.

"Sir there seems to be a misunderstanding. it's not the Midnight Sire.."

"Who cares the people love the name." The umpire suddenly cut her off. "Besides I were you I'll be worrying more about that pretty face. Now get along!, don't keep the people waiting."

He shoved her towards the arena. The people were roaring and whistling, they seemed to be admiring her exotic curves. Her heart was beating loudly like a bumble drum as she climbed into the arena. She looked at the so called Miss fatality, and couldn't help but wonder if the woman would ever have any chances of getting married. The sight of her enormous biceps could send a lion out of it's own skin, let alone her hideous face.

The bell rang and the two combatants started circling around while analysing their opponent's tactics and waiting for whom will make the first move.

"Am gonna fuck that pretty face of yours up sweetheart." Snarled Miss fatality.

She didn't respond to her abuses, instead she kept her gaze focused on her change of body movements.

All of a sudden, Miss fatality discharged an unanticipated kick that she was luckily able to avoid by only a fingerbreadth. Unfortunately the attacks didn't end there, as the brute lady remained relentless and determined in disfiguring her face. She kept swinging kicks and throwing devastating punches that kept her off balanced and didn't give her much chance to go on the offensive. She was left with no other option but to dodge and block as much punches as she could.

Miss fatality had not been able to achieve a clean successful strike but she could tell her opponent's arms was aching like crazy from all the heavy kicks she'd been blocking.

"You've got good defenses kid, but we'll see how long you can keep up." She mocked as she leaped in for another episode of deadly outburst.

She swooped in a with a roundhouse kick that headed straight for Selena's head. But she ducked in time and escaped the attack. While the brute lady tried regaining balance from the stunt she'd just pulled. But was stunned when she twirled around only to be met with a gut wrenching kick to the stomach.

Selena swifty swinged her other leg and it collided perfectly to her opponent's chin which sent her flying. The crowd burst into jubilation on seeing this, it seemed they were secretly in support of her.

Miss fatality was not pleased with how things had turned out. She'd been fighting viciously and no one hailed her and suddenly the new girl lands a couple of kicks and everyone are reeling for her?. She shot up from the ground and launched towards her furiously. Her attacks were much more devastating than her firsts. She was like an unstoppable force, it was almost like she was on drugs.

Selena found herself being thrashed to the floor, she couldn't keep up with the insane speed. All she could do was cover her face as the aggressive muscled lady mounted on her and landed deadly blows to her ribs, torsos and virtually every opening. Her arms were already weakened from the constant punches she was receiving. As a few loose punches were slightly hitting her face.

Hugh was just about to leaving after receiving his paycheck when suddenly he saw the fight. Subconsciously his brows furrowed and he closed his fists in anger. He quietly turned to leave but Jeb called him back.

"Wow wait a second boy, we've got to see how this fight turns out."

"Theirs no use. She'll lose" He coolly said as he started to walk away.

Jeb slowly trailed behind him as he continued to protested. "Hey man that's just bad faith. What makes you so sure she'll lose?."

He sighed deeply and then whispered. "Any normal person who'd say the same. Am not normal and I have seen ten possible futures of this fight."

He was astonished as he heard his words, he never knew his control over his foresight perception had sky rocketed to such lengths. And so he asked curiously "Tell me Hugh since when did you gain such mastery over your foresight?"

But unfortunately he was rewarded with nothing but silence, as the young boy continued leaving, nonchalantly ignoring his other silly questions.

"Yeahhh!!!" The crowd suddenly roared causing them both to whirl around in both curiousity and bewilderment.

Selena had finally managed to land a clean strike to fatality's windpipe, while she was recklessly throwing punches. The once furious tigress staggered backwards like a drunken sailor, as she clutched tightly to her neck and gasped for air. She knew that single strike wasn't enough to defeat the ferocious fighter. So she acted fast and stood up, ran towards her opponent as she tacticfully twisted her body while her legs were lifted from the ground as swung around in the air.

Her torso remained in a horizontal position as she landed a set of three swift kicks to her opponent before landing to the floor. It was a fantastic display of acrobatic skills and the crowd cheered happily for her. As Fatality who'd been struck at three vital parts, fell to the ground face flat. As the entire crowd continued to whistle and hail her name

"Midnight Siren!. Midnight Siren!."

And at that moment she suddenly took a liking to her new nickname. Hugh was still in a daze when Jeb jeered at him "So much for your fake prophecies "

He shook his head tiredly, ignoring the ghost's words as he walked away coolly. He came out of the underground and quietly started walking out of the Judo house. However he saw Selena in a hidden corner, she was winching from the pain of the fight. Her once fragile skin was now covered in bruises.

It reminded him of the time she visited him, subconsciously a faint smile appeared on his face as he reminisced.

She suddenly caught sight of him staring at her, so she waved awkwardly to him. He didn't return the greetings, instead he looked away sharply and immediately left the Judo house.

She awkwardly retracted her hand not sure why he was being so hostile to her. She continued cleaning up her split lip when all of a sudden, a fair athletic built teenage boy with an irresistibly long blue hair that was pulled together to form a round shape at the back of his head approached her.

"Need any help?" He kindly offered to help.

"No thanks. I can take care of myself." She promptly declined, not even bothering to cast a glance at him.

He stubbornly sat beside her and swiftly took the first aid kit from her hand while saying. "My uncle never let any one help him with his stuffs. You know where that landed him?. In a wheelchair, now guess who washes his undies?."

She suddenly chuckled softly on hearing such a crappy story. The young man joined in as they both laughed heartily. Then he said to her on a more considerate tone. "Look all am tryna say is you were great out there, but we're all still humans it's okay to show weakness."

She nodded in agreement, truthfully she didn't expect to be seeing any reasonable person in here.

"So would you let me treat you?." He asked patiently.

She looked at him for a while and then chuckled softly as she nodded affirmatively "yeah sure. Knock yourself out."

The young man smiled bitterly as he started to tend to her injuries. She had a strange feeling when he pressed the cotton paper against her slightly swollen lips. Her heart started beating rapidly as she tried to conceal the swelling on her chest.

"I think that would do." The young man said happily as he stood up to leave.

"Wait.." She suddenly called him back. "What's your name?."

He smiled as smartly answered "Theo. Theo Zimmerman."

She smiled inwardly and then teased "Alright Theo would you be willing to assist this damsel in distress out of here."

"Sure. So long as she'll be willing to buy me dinner when next we meet."

She couldn't help but chuckle again, as she bit her lips in consideration "Fine, though I doubt there'll be a next time."

"There's always a next time"

They both chatted and walked out happily from the Judo house. Leaving behind a certain dark figure that kept glaring at them.
