Divination, Ready For Awakening

After leaving Marina's Eyeball Trove shop, Rei and others went back into the market.

"Those magical shops can't be scammers, right?" Alice spoke while pointing at a shop, both doubt and eagerness welling in her eyes.

Ann's Crystal Divination.

"Let's go and check it out," Rei said. He also wanted to see his Divination.

The group soon entered the shop. The shop was decorated with various types of beautiful crystals.

The lights illuminating everything also came from a set of crystals, making everything appear mystical.

At the very end sat a woman with long braided jet black hair. In front of her was a small square couch, and on it was a crystal.

"Welcome, younglings."

Seeing the smiling middle-aged woman, Rei and others nodded in greeting before approaching her.

Ann quickly scanned everyone by looking at them briefly before focusing on Rei. "I will only do a single divination, and it will be yours. Move forward, young man."

"Why not us too?" Alice asked with a downcast expression.

"Because only yours and this young man's Divination seems fun, and I won't be able to do another after doing one. The fees are fixed. Ten thousand credits," Ann said while looking at Alice. "I can guess something about you but nothing about him. As such, I'll only do his Divination."

But Leo cringed at the price. "So expensive."

Alice and Lia were also dumbfounded at a price.

"Fine. I'll give money if your Divination proves useful," Rei said before sitting on a stool across the divination table.

Ann smiled and raised her hand before putting it on the crystal orb before her. Afterward, she looked straight at Rei and said, "Touch the orb with your index finger."

Rei did as told.

Ann nodded and closed her eyes before using her First Seal's power. 'Crystal Gazer, Life divination.'

Some clouds appeared in the crystal orb, and then some dark gold light flashed. However, Ann's eyes were still closed.

Thirty seconds later, Ann opened her eyes and frowned.

"What happened?" Rei curiously asked. "What did you divine about me?"

"Let me try again," Ann said before closing her eyes. 'Crystal Gazer, Threat divination.'

Clouds appeared in the crystal ball, but Ann couldn't divine it properly again.

"Apologize. It seems that I overestimated my skills," Ann said politely before removing her hand from the orb. "I can't divine anything about you. You can leave."

"Do you know why you can't divine anything?" Rei asked. He was curious about his past because he held doubts regarding his parents.

Leo glanced at Rei and internally sighed. He was partially at fault but didn't think he did anything bad by helping Rei dig up some old information two years ago.

It turned out that Rei's parents that died when he was five years old were not his birth parents. They were not blood-related.

After Rei found out this, he was happy and felt his parents must be somewhere in space.

Rei wasn't really expecting to meet them and didn't journey out to find them, but a lingering hope in him still wished to meet his parents if they were alive.

"I also can't understand why my Divination is not working. But there can't be any faults. If I can't do it, it simply means my skills are insufficient," Ann explained before a sigh escaped her mouth.

"Since I couldn't divine anything, I'll do one more."

Ann beckoned Alice to take Rei's place. "Come here, lass."

Rei lightly chuckled and stood up before turning to Alice, "here you go, milady."

"Thank you," Alice smiled happily before sitting, her look eager.

"Oh yeah. This Divination is actually important for Alice," Rei exclaimed, remembering that Alice had lost a significant portion of her memories.

Alice's memory slate was mostly blank from birth until she turned fourteen.

"Yes," Alice quickly nodded. "I want to know more about me."

Leo and Lia also understood why Alice was so eager about Divination.

"I'll not disappoint you, lass."

Ann said with a kind smile as she again put her hand on the orb and told Alice to put her index finger on it.

The same clouds appeared in the Crystal ball, but Ann was not frowning this time.

After a whole minute, Ann opened her eyes and smiled.

"I knew it. You are a descendant of a higher bloodline clan, and it's fairly old. I could sense the aura before, and now it's confirmed," Ann said.

"Do you know where my clan is? And name?!"

Alice asked, her eyes hopeful.

"Sorry, dear. I have no such information. But I can point you in a direction," Ann said before taking a deep breath and closing her eyes.

Five seconds later, she moved her lips.

"Find a temple of a headless statue beneath a waterfall with three suns on the horizon, all facing the temple."

'A clue for a place?' Rei was surprised.

"That is what I visioned when I divined about your clan and your bloodline. May luck flow in your favor," Ann said with a smile.

After paying 10k to Ann, the group continued roaming the market.

They focused on buying ingredients, and within two hours, they almost finished the entire shopping. At least Rei got the ingredients he needed.

Alice, Lia, and Leo lacked one ingredient each.

Alice lacked the teardrops of a zealot in praying while Lia lacked a waterdrop from a mercury lack facing the moon.

Leo lacked a bit of blood to put on his cross. He specifically wanted the blood of a person with high moral philosophy. So, he decided to wait a bit to find such a person.

"Let's go to Ford's garage. I'll make my catalyst there and awaken first," Rei said with a grin. "I'm sure old man Ford will help, and we'll learn some basics about it."

Leo nodded.

"Our spacecraft should be ready as well."
