The talk

As I looked at this supposed future version of myself I couldn't help but be stunned, not knowing what to say.

No matter how much I tried to look for any flaw or indication that this might not be me, I couldn't. This was definitely me.

"I mean are you truly surprised?" He asked.

"Not really…" I answered.

I had been feeling a weird sense of discrepancy in my memories and actions, so I had expected something deeper to be happening within me.

"So are you gonna explain…"

"The disconnect between your memories and the bits and pieces of knowledge you hold that you shouldn't come from a few side effects of my death."

"For beings at my level death hold a totally different meaning."

"I…died…?"

"Well, no. I did, and it was a voluntary death but that's not important now."

"What?! Are you not going to-"

"I was only supposed to meet you when you gained your class but thankfully this trial allowed my wisp to awaken." He said, completely ignoring me.
